Chapter Four: Big-scary-vampire-fighting-wolf-shape-taking-monster thing

"So... what you are telling me that werewolves exist and that's what I turned into the other night?"

"Yeah."

"That I won't age..."

"Most definitely."

"My childhood friends are also werewolves...."

"As far as my knowledge extends: yes"

"And somewhere in the deeply vast world, I have a soulmate that I will love eternally et cetera, et cetera, et cetera."

"Yes."

"What a load of bollocks."

It had been half an hour after Sam and Rea had arrived back at his house (of which he shares with Emily but has yet to tell Rea because as far as her knowledge extends, Sam and Leah are still together) and Rea couldn't wrap her head around this whole 'big-scary-vampire-fighting-wolf-shape-taking-monster thing,' as if any sane person would.

Lifting her mug of hot cocoa to her lips whilst sipping at the steaming liquid, she averted her eyes down to the photographs of the pack littered around the house, her gaze lingering on one photo in particular: a image of Leah and her little brother, Seth, dressed up at a party.

Sam watched his half-sister intently as she looked at her new home, it wasn't anything fancy and probably falling apart in some places but it was home and she was loved. Sam was adamant that their mother wouldn't hurt his little Riri like she had done before.

"I haven't told mom you're here." Sam muttered with a tone of disgust. He hated his mother for what she did to Rea. Rea was still littered with the memories engraved into her skin in the form of scars from where her mother had beaten her children, both of them damaged for life.

Sam didn't care that his mother had hurt him, only that she hurt Rea, "She'll find out eventually, but lay low for a while, Riri. I can't have you hurt again."

"Aren't you an amazing brother?"

"The very best-" Sam said before he was cut off by the door being slammed open as three very tall, muscular men stormed in, "Respect the door!"

A chorus of apologies came from the near the kitchen direction, all of which didn't sound sincere but Rea recognised their voices immediately: Paul, Jared and Jacob. Smiling at what was her second family as she had been brought up with these blokes, she sipped her drink waiting to be noticed.

They came barging into the room only a few minutes later, Jared was the first to speak, "What time will Emily have food ready by -hey Rea- as patrol without food is awful. Wait, Rea!?"

"Hi!" Rea smiled at Jared before she was picked up and swung around.

"Wait Sam, does she know about you-know-what?"

"Yeah, she does." Rea replied with a tone of snark in her voice before she pried her way out of Jared's arms to take her seat again, "Wait, why does Emily cook for y'all, is she a 'big-scary-vampire-fighting-wolf-shape-taking-monster thing' too?"

"No," Jacob grunted through a mouthful of sandwich, "she is Sam's imprint,"

"I thought you and Leah were still together! Why didn't you tell me,"

"Well, well I, I thought that," San stuttered out from under Rea's glare, "I thought I did."

    "Bollocks."
