Chapter Eight: Twirl

True to his word, and much to Sam's dismay, Seth arrived at the Uley pack house at seven, just in time to have Emily give him breakfast. However he did play it cooly when she asked if he planned to get there on time for food, denying any motives of the sort.

Rea hadn't met Emily yet, all she heard was Sam talking to a woman this morning and she put two and two together to assume who was there. Although it was made significantly easier by Seth when he greeted her, the walls were thin and she heard everything.

"Hi, you must be Emily," Rea said as she peaked her head around the door to see if Sam had cooked. Overall, she was delighted to find that there was a sizeable spread waiting.

"How could you tell?"

"The goggly eyes my brother is making in your direction."

Emily laughed at this, especially since Seth had been making the same eyes at Rea, before gesturing towards the food, indicating for her to start eating, and which she did.

"So you are the infamous Rhiannon then?"

"Please say Sam doesn't refer to me as that!" The young girl had exclaimed between mouthfuls of eggs, "also these are good eggs."

Sam looked down guilty of this. He knew she didn't like it but old habits die hard. He also recorded pointed looks from Seth and Emily as they had heard Rea's full name be used by Sam all the time.

The time had flown for the small 'family' (if you could calm it that, that is) as it was now half past the hour, meaning Seth and Rea had to leave before school.

As they got their things, Sam had begun his lecture for the day, "Don't get angry Rea, I'm trusting you. Especially since none of the boys went back for weeks. It's barely been six days-"

"Woo. Special privileges."

"Don't interrupt. Call me if you do get angry and I'll come and get you. Okay?"

"Yes Sam."

The work to school was quiet and awkward at first until Seth decided to play '20 questions: rapid fire edition' with Rea to actually get to know his imprint. So far he had learned that Rea: used to be a gymnast before giving it up; hates sunflowers; loveS Captain America and her favourite chocolate is on from England. (Her favourite chocolate bar was actually a Cadbury's Twirl, a brand name Seth would come to find it useful to remember.)

As Rea had finished her questions, which were just as lame as Seth's but she found his answers interesting so it doesn't matter that much really, they entered the school office.

"Hi...umm. Excuse me." She tried but the receptionist hadn't heard as she continued to type away at her computer.

"She's a bit deaf."

"Well you try then."

"Mable? MABLE?"

This caught the elderly lady's attention as 'Mable' had turned around to face them.

"Oh hella, Seth dear," She croaked ou slowly, pulling her cardigan tightly around herself. She reminded Rea of her own grandmother who had done more parenting for Sam and her than their own mother did. She always loved being with her Nanna, "And who are you, dear?"

Raising her voice slightly, Rea gave her details and in return was given a map, timetable and locker code, "Yay, new school."

"What was that, dearie?"

"Nothing, Mable. Nothing at all."
