Jealousy is the product of insecurity, as well as anxiety.

It is a burning sensation often felt in the stomach or cheeks that only strengthens the more it is held back.

To seek recognition and affirmation is to free one's self from damnation.

What, then, occurs when one cannot bring themselves to this freedom?

They compare:
He is not as heroic as the others.

They hate:
He is in the way of his prize.

They act impulsively:
He lashed out at the poor bowman for trying to show Nico the correct position.

They blame:
Had he tried harder, maybe there would not be so much doubt.

They worry:
Is he strong enough? Known enough?

They question:
Why did Nico not visit today? Does he not like his appearance? Is he too loud?

In short,
They suffer.

They bottle up such an unstable emotion, and run mad with the after effects.

Will was jealous.

Jealous of the heroes,
Jealous of their power,
Jealous of their connections,
And jealous of their confidence.

Of course, for him not to smile through the pain would prove him weak, yes?

He had to be positive for his patients, no?

He had to be strong to keep up, right?

No, but nobody told him that.

And nobody will,
because nobody is asking.
