I looked around for Troy but he was no where to be found. He promised me that he would play in the baseball game.

I stood in my yellow baseball jersey, waiting for the game to start. Gabriella, Taylor, and surprisingly, Ryan, ran onto the field and met us all at home plate.

"Hey, are you playing?", I ask Ryan as he reaches us.

"No, just here with them.", he pointed at Gabriella and Taylor.

Chad walked up to the four of us. "So are y'all still doing the show?", Taylor asked Chad.

"Troy bailed on us so whats the point?", he asked.

"Come on you don't need Troy. We can still do this.", I said. Ryan nodded along with me.

"Look, if you two wanna play ball, then grab a mit. But I don't dance.", Chad said, pointing at Ryan and I.

"You don't think dancing takes some game?", Ryan asked, stepping closer to Chad.

Everyone laughed around us at Ryan. "You got game?", Chad asked.

"A little.", Ryan stuffed his hands in his pockets and nodded.

Chad nodded and gestured for a guy to throw the bat up. Chad caught it first and Ryan wrapped his hand around it.

This went on until Ryan's hand landed on top of the bat, leaving no more room. That meant it we were in the field first.

Ryan got handed a glove and ball and started toward the pitching mound. I stopped him and held my glove out.

"Sorry, but the mound's mine.", I said. Ryan placed the ball in my glove and ran toward the field.

[Intro: Ryan]
Hey, oh, play ball
Hey, hey, oh

[Bridge: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
Hey, batter, batter, hey batter, batter swing
I've got to just do my thing
Hey, batter, batter, hey batter, batter swing

[Verse 1: Ryan & Chad]
I'll show you that it's one and the same:
Baseball, dancing, same game
It's easy:
Step up to the plate, start swingin'
I wanna play ball now, and that's all
This is what I do
It ain't no dance that you can show me

[Pre-Chorus: McKenna & Chad]
You'll never know
Oh, I know
If you never try
There's just one little thing that stops me every time

[Chorus: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
Come on!
I don't dance
I know you can
Not a chance
If I could do this, well, you could do that
But I don't dance
Hit it out of the park!
I don't dance
I say you can
There's not a chance
Slide home, you score, swingin' on the dance floor
I don't dance, no

[Bridge: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
Hey, batter, batter, hey batter, batter swing
I've got to just do my thing
Hey, batter, batter, hey batter, batter swing

[Verse 2: McKenna & Chad]
Two-steppin', now you're up to bat
Bases loaded, do your dance
It's easy:
Take your best shot, just hit it
I've got what it takes, playin' my game
So you better spin that pitch you're gonna throw me, yeah
I'll show you how I swing

[Pre Chorus: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
You'll never know
Oh, I know
If you never try
There's just one little thing that stops me ev'ry time

[Chorus: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
Come on!
I don't dance
I know you can
Not a chance
If I could do this, well, you could do that
But I don't dance
Hit it out of the park!
I don't dance
I say you can
There's not a chance
Slide home, you score, swingin' on the dance floor
I don't dance, no

[Interlude: Ryan & McKenna, Chad & all three]
Lean back, tuck it in, take a chance
Swing it out, spin around, do the dance
I wanna play ball, not dance hall
I'm makin' a triple, not a curtain call

I can prove it to you 'til you know it's true
'Cause I can swing it, I can bring it to the diamond too
You're talkin' a lot;
Show me what you got
Stop!

Swing!
Hey
Come on, swing it like this
Oh, swing!
Ooh
Jitterbug
Just like that
That's what I mean
That's how you swing
You make a good pitch but I don't believe
I say you can
I know I can't
I don't
dance
You can do it
I don't dance, no
Nothin' to it
Atta boy, atta boy
Yeah
Hey, batter, batter, hey, batter, batter, what?
One, two, three, four, everybody swing!

[Chorus: Ryan & McKenna, Chad]
Come on!
I don't dance
I know you can
Not a chance
If I could do this, well, you could do that
But I don't dance
Hit it out of the park!
I don't dance
I say you can
There's not a chance
Slide home, you score, swingin' on the dance floor
I don't dance, no

Chad slid into home as I caught the ball. As Chad slid, he hit me foot, knocking me down with him.

"Safe!", I heard the umpire yell. Everyone started cheering as the game ended. Chad's team won.

Chad jumped up then held his hand down to help me up too. "I guess you can play a little.", Chad said while shrugging.

"You as well.", I nodded at him as we both walked off of the field.

After the game, everyone met around the concession stand to eat hamburgers and hot dogs. Still, even after the game was over, Troy was nowhere to be seen.
