“So where do we head to?” Hawkeye asked.

“New York. They’ll likely retreat, but remain in some area where the Slyther tunnels are so they can hide,” Nick replied.

“Déjà vu…” Bruce blurted out.

“What?” Thor asked.

“Well we’re going back to New York to stop yet another group of bad guys. We did that just a few years ago…”

“As did we,” Optimus stated. “Within the first few days we arrived, Megatron broke free from the ice he was trapped inside of, and the Autobots went to destroy him. I thought I’d gotten rid of my brother for good, yet he was revived and we destroyed him again. Then last time in Chicago…” Optimus sighed. “He seems to be invincible. I hope this time we finally rid Earth of him.”

“He sounds like my brother,” Thor said. Optimus gave a confused look. “Although… I wish that my brother had survived last time…….” Thor hung his head.

Ratchet nuzzled Thor. “It’s alright. We all lose people we care about throughout life. It’s just a part of life. And another hardship we all must survive.”

Suddenly, the memory of Thor’s mother’s death came back to him. He hung his head even lower, closed his eyes, and a tear ran down from it. “Yes… I know it well enough,” he said.

Ratchet lifted up his hand and with his pointer finger, he patted Thor on the back. His crying quickly ceased after that. Then Ratchet lowered his hand. “Are you alright now?” Thor nodded and lifted his head, turned to Ratchet, and gave a smile. Ratchet smiled. “Good. Because I don’t want to see anyone here crying. It pains me to no end to see such… defeat.”

“Alright. Everyone, I do not care whether you ram through people, other cars, or whatever. Do what you have to to get them all to move out of the way and head to New York as fast as you can,” Optimus stated. “Anyone who can fly, then fly there. Get to New York and do whatever you can until the rest of the team gets there.”

Tony turned to Optimus, his eyes wide and concerning. “But Optimus. I’m not—“

“You used to hate me. You used to not care about me at all. But now you worry. Now you’re concerned. And you don’t have to be. I can and will be fine alone because I will have my friends,” Optimus said. He turned to Tony. “Right now, you must worry about your kind and their protection. Defend them by fighting the Slythers and Decepticons. That is your job. Not worrying about the protection of one who can defend himself through millions of years of war.” Tony sighed and nodded gravely. Optimus gave a smile.

With that, all the Autobots transformed. Agent Coulson climbed up on Jetfire and gripped the back wing. Nick Fury climbed onto Starscream and also grabbed a back wing. Tony fired up his suit, and Thor held up his hammer. With all of them ready, they flew off into the distance, and raced to New York.

Bruce went inside Ratchet and sat down in a front seat, then strapped himself in. Cap, Hawkeye, and Natasha all got into Bumblebee, and when everyone was set, they sped their way through the desert and to the nearest road to New York.

Up in the sky, Nick stood sturdily on Starscream with his feet firmly planted on his back. He turned to Coulson who seemed rather unfazed by the fact he was standing, soaring through the air at several hundred miles an hour. Coulson looked at him strangely.

“And how many times have you done this to be used to it so quickly?” Nick asked. Coulson held up two fingers and shrugged. “And I thought Tony was crazy…”
