This ship started ever since Jiyoon became really close with the members of GOT7. There had been some random V-Live clips where Jiyoon had admitted that she admired his rapping style and Mark has admitted in other videos that he admired her. Fans also pointed out that their are both STUNNING visuals so it became a popular multifandom ship. There was a popular YoonMark moment when he tagged along with Jackson and Jiyoon to go eat lunch and ended up hanging out with her more that Jackson did. Jackson kinda became a third wheel as YoonMark became really close. (#thirdwheeljackson)

The subunit J97 ended up going on an episode of After School Club. Jae and Jimin were the hosts at the time and this day is considered the birth of JaeYoon. The two of them both seemed a little uncomfortable throughout the whole show. Every now and then, the both of them would keep stealing glances at each other before turning away again. Jungkook also seemed like he knew something as he looked between the two of them. There was one moment when Jae complimented her on her dancing, she seemed a bit flustered. Jungkook also gave her this strange look to which she elbowed him just before the camera switched angles. Many fans believe that the two of them are in a relationship and tried their best to hide it during the interview.
Seventeen's Mingyu

Jiyoon and Mingyu were ultimately shipped just because of their god/goddess-like visuals. The only proof of this ship was from recorded reactions from the both of them during award shows. While BTS was performing Fake Love, Mingyu's reaction would always go super smiley when Jiyoon was center. When Sevwnteen was performing Thanks, Jiyoon was seen smiling brightly at Mingyu's first verse.
