💥Chapter 14: Battle Trial💥

All Might stuck one hand in a black box labeled villains , and another in the white box labeled heroes. "The first match is!" He pulled out a black ball labeled "D" and a white ball labeled "A". Oh crap, that's Bakugo's team vs. Izuku's team! This isn't going to end well. Katsuki's face twisted into an evil smirk as he glared at Izuku. Should I start planning his funeral? Izuku was terrified, as he should be. A part of me was glad I didn't have to fight him while another part of me was kinda sad about it.

"Team A will be the heroes and Team D will be the villains." All Might stated. I nodded to myself, that actually fits them pretty well. I gave Izuku a small thumbs up and mouthed "good luck" to him.

The rest of us headed to the monitoring room while the two teams stayed behind for a planning period before their fight.

10 years ago Y/n's POV

"Are you sure about this kacchan? That looks dangerous..." Izuku asked. Bakugo, Izuku, and I were standing in front of a keep out sign, opening a hole we had found in the chain-linked fence.

"Don't be such a scaredy cat, Deku." Bakugo said, pushing himself through the hole in the fence. He winced slightly but continued without us.

"H-hey kacchan wait up!" Izuku called, clumsily pushing himself through the gap, ripping his sleeve as part of the fence scraped against his skin. He clenched his teeth as his eyes began to water, but he kept on chasing after Bakugo.

I stood there for a moment. I should follow them, but I do not want to get in trouble. Mrs. Mitsuki and Mrs. Inko were so nice to take care of me, and I did not want to upset them. I sighed as Izuku began to leave my vision. Well, I do not really have much of a choice. I crawled through the hole in the fence. I was smaller than Izu and Bakugo, so I just slid through with not so much as a scrape as I chased after them.

-Y/n's POV: Present Time-

"Hey Y/n, you still with us?" Mina asked, waving her pink hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my daze. We were in the monitor room and Katsuki and Izu's match was going to start soon.

"Huh? Oh... yeah I'm here, sorry about that." I chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Well, the match is about to begin so come on!" she said, grabbing my arm and pulling me closer to the viewing screen.

I felt bad about zoning out before the boys' match, but I could not help but remember how much Izu admired Katsuki. He still does. I imagine he is nervous and, fairly, if I had to fight that explosion machine, I would be nervous too. I wonder if Katsuki has anything on his mind other than his desire to murder Izuku in this match.

Katsuki and Iida were going to be guarding the weapon and the audio was silenced on our end. I could tell from the video feed that Katsuki had no intention on working with his teammate at all. Not surprising. Uraraka and Izuku approached the building with a clear plan in mind. As they both headed in, the video cut to the hallways.

Katsuki attacked Izuku first, blasting off most of the boy's mask. Uraraka got away as Izuku stayed to fight Katsuki. Even though Izu was shaking badly, he held his ground and even picked Katsuki with the porcupine's own throwing move! I've never been so proud. Although I couldn't hear what they were saying, it was clear to me that Izuku's reluctance to use his quirk was ticking off the ash-blonde.

The fight went about as I thought it would, but I was totally surprised by Izuku's sudden win. Although the heroes won, the villians were the ones without much injury while Izuku was being pulled away on a stretcher. That dummy.

Whenever the students returned, I couldn't help but study Katsuki's expression with worry. I think that was the first time he ever lost, and it was against Izuku of all people. I can imagine how flipped upside down his world is right now. Katsuki's face was dark and haunted. He stared off in silence. I decided to leave him alone for today.

"Despite the results!" All Might declared, "The MVP of this excercize is Young Iida!"

The students gasped in surprise. I tilted my head in confusion. Shouldn't one of the winners be the MVP? Well... Tenya was the only who took the excersize seriously... Izuku acted recklessly and put himself in the nurse's office, Uraraka gave herself away by laughing and didn't really plan her attack out at all, and Katsuki was.. well Katsuki. Tenya, despite his reluctant teammate, analyzed his opponents actions and prepared for it. Not to mention he took it upon himself to embrace his role of villian.

Kaminari raised his hand, "Um All Might sir. Shouldn't on of the heroes be MVP?"

"Mm valid question! Why didn't I choose one of those two? Any guesses?" All Might asked.

"Sir! I can tell you why." Momo's hand was politely raised, "Iida embraced this challenge. He was the only one who truly adapted to his assigned role-"
Momo continued on with a brief and detailed explanation of what I had concluded earlier. To be honest, I kinda zoned out as she spoke. I hope Izuku's injures aren't too bad. I wonder if Katsuki will be okay. Heh, when did I start worrying about that jerk?

My eyes glanced over at Katsuki. He was listening to Momo's critique of his behavior, something close to shame covered his crimson hues. I couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking. I tried to avoid looking at him, but I couldn't help let a few worried glances slip. He didn't seem to notice me anyways.

"Match Two!" All Might declared, jumping me out of my daze. He held up two balls and I recognized the white one as my team's letter. I looked at the black ball labeled 'I'. Who's team was that again? I joined my teammates and glanced at the leaving group. Todoroki, Max, and Shoji.

~Time Skip~

"Okay, so shoji is probably going to be our main issue. He could locate us within seconds with those ears and eyes of his. I think I can use my unicorn spirit to somehow hide our presence from him." I stated, summoning Fluffie. Hagakure fangirled about how cute Fluffie was and Fluffie hopped over to her.

"What about the other two?" Ojiro asked. I thought for a moment. Max is a complete mystery, I've never seen him use his quirk and, like Todoroki, he doesn't really talk much. Todoroki's hero suit has ice on it and I think I've seen him use ice before. My fire is the perfect match for iceboy.

"I'll deal with Todoroki. His quirk is ice-related, so my fire should do some real damage. As for Max..." I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'll see what I can do.." ojiro smiled, "so you disable shoji's radar and occupy Todoroki. I occupy Max, and Hagakure would be able to help capture them with her invisibility. Sounds like a great plan, but we would be leaving the weapon defenseless. If one of them got past us..."

"No need to worry!" I summoned Pixie, "I've got a perfect spirit for the job. Pixie can keep up a forcefield around the weapon and if someone manages to break it she could float the weapon off the ground!"

"If I may interject," pixie spoke, "Maintaining three spirits at one time isn't such an easy feat. The last times you maintained all three of us at once, you blacked out. You might want to refrain from using one of us."

"But I need all of you! Fluffie's role is vital to disabling shoji's advantage and I need you to be our defense. I can't really fight without Igness..." I whined. Pixie sighed.

"Very well, I'll handle it." Pixie said, disappearing. Fluffie bounced over to me.

"To make it easier, instead of blocking you guys from being detected, I can block him from detecting you. It would be much easier and save you a great deal of stamina." Fluffie offered. My eyes lit up.

"You can do that?!" Me, Hagakure, and ojiro all shouted in shock. Fluffie giggled.

"Of course I can! I'm a very strong spirit y'know. I can mess with the brain process to make people see illusions so naturally I can disturb the message-sending signals in a person's brain." She stated. My mouth fell agape. That's both overpowered and really scary.

"All right!" Hagakure cheered, hopping up and down. "Let's win this thing!"

With my spirits and my friends by my side, there is no way I'll lose. You better watch out Shoto Todoroki! Here comes the flame!
