Seeing how excited Ajana was about their house, Cassie's whole family decided to first show Ajana around the house.

Every room they went into was more magnificent than the previous one. Even ordinary things such as a fridge had a magical feel to them.

Although the house was mostly old-fashioned, it also had some modern appliances Ajana was familiar with.

"How come you have these?" she couldn't help but ask.

"Wouldn't it be easier just to use magic for everything?" Ajana added.

"Honestly, my dear Ajana, we think that some of these modern devices are more convenient. Using magic is fun, but sometimes if we use it too much, we get exhausted.

"This way, we don't have to waste magic on unnecessary things," Cassie said.

Although Ajana would have used magic for everything, she could understand Cassie's point of view.

After all, being a fairy had to be challenging since they were known for using their magic to help others, and that was probably draining their powers rapidly. They needed a lot of energy to help out when others needed it.

However, the room that was the most magical of them all was the library. Ajana had never seen a bigger and more beautiful library.

The smell of books and old magic was permeating the place. It was the library of her dreams, row upon row of books and far to the right a beautifully made fireplace.

In front of the fireplace, there were two comfortable armchairs. Ajana immediately knew that she would be spending a lot of time there.

Reading books was her favorite thing to do, and she always wanted to do it in such a relaxing setting.

Their final destination of the house tour was Ajana's room and after taking a few steps inside, Ajana couldn't help but squeal from joy. She went to the middle of the room and started spinning around to get a better look at her kingdom.

"Wow! Wallace, look at this! It is so huge and simply wonderful!" She said as she threw herself on the nearby bed, which had the most beautiful baldachin canopy.

If she had had the chance to make her own dream room, it would have been the one she was in.

Opposite the bed was an enormous window with the view of the colorful garden, and Ajana was happy that she would get the chance to wake up every day to that breathtaking view.

Her room was tastefully decorated and had all the things Ajana thought were obligatory for a comfortable bedroom.

There were two bedside tables on both sides of her bed with simple lamps on them.

Nearby were also a few tall bookshelves where she could put her favorite books, and she always wanted to have something like that. It was a dream come true.

Finally, she opened her wardrobe, and for a moment, she couldn't remember how to breathe.

It was the largest wardrobe she had ever seen, and it was filled with the most enchanting dresses and other amazing outfits.

"Is there a special dress code or can I wear one of those to school?" Ajana asked pointing at one of the dresses.

"There is no dress code for school, but I don't recommend wearing dresses. Almost every day, there will be some kind of combat training, and dresses are not the best choice." Wallace said.

Upon seeing her crestfallen expression, he went on to add: "But you can wear them after school or for the parties we often have."

That made Ajana feel much better since she really loved dressing up and was glad to hear she would get the chance to do so.

It was already getting dark outside when Wallace spoke up.

"Ajana, it's time for me to go. Remember, you have school tomorrow, so you need to go to sleep early." Wallace said.

"Don't leave me here all alone," she whispered.

"You are never alone. I am always with you. If you ever need me, just think my name very hard, and I'll hear you calling. Also, I will see you tomorrow. You have private lessons with me after school to help you catch up. Until then, Rex will keep you company." Wallace said with a smile in his voice.

"Oh, sorry, I guess I just panicked. I thought you would abandon me and go in search of another person with magic." Ajana said, feeling stupid for overreacting.

"I am not going anywhere. The connection that you and I share is special. It is one of friendship and mutual respect. I would never leave you. You are now the girl with an owl as your constant companion," he said.

That helped Ajana relax, and after saying goodbye to Wallace, she laid down in her new, soft bed and tucked herself in.

At first, she couldn't fall asleep thinking of the day that lay ahead, the first day of school.

It was difficult to be a new girl, even in a regular school, and she was sure that it was even more challenging in a magical school. However, she was determined to do her best to fit in.

Maybe she didn't know how to do any magic yet, but she was ready to learn. It was her chance to prove that she was one of them and that she belonged there although she wasn't sure of it herself.

Leaving aside all her doubts and fears, Ajana decided to just relax and enjoy what she knew would be the biggest adventure of her life.

In her heart, Ajana knew that at least Wallace would always be there for her. It made her feel safe.

Her thoughts were interrupted as Rex jumped to the bed next to her. It was as if her book pet wanted to tell her that he would be there for her as well.

Hugging Rex, Ajana finally went to sleep, dreaming of magic and fairies, joy and love, and all the great things that ever were and ever would be.

Those were usually the only dreams people in Mag ever had. However, for Ajana, who often had nightmares back home, they were the most precious gift she had ever received.
