Well, the SAO survivors are prime examples of such actions mentioned above. To be specific, anyone who has interacted with the player 'Haru' within the game, Sword Art Online, has no recollection of meeting him after they had cleared the VRMMO.
With the exception of a few players who were close to him, their memories with 'Haru' remain as fragments, a name with no face.
This is the story of Sword Art Online that has been forgotten.
