Chance and I were sitting in my bedroom, playing Pac-Man when my father knocked on the doorframe. We both looked up at him.

"Hey, Chance." my dad greeted before looking at me. "Baby girl. Can we talk for a second?" he pleaded. I looked over at Chance who shrugged and unpaused the game, turning his attention back to it. I sighed, standing up and walking out the room. My father stepped towards the stairs and turned to face me.

"What's up?" I asked.

"How are you feeling? You haven't really spoken to me much in the last couple of days. It's almost as if you're avoiding me." he said, a sullen expression was on his face but I didn't pay it much mind. My dad was just overreacting as always.

"Dad, I haven't been ignoring you and I'm fine," I reassured him. He nodded, looking me over before sighing.

"Good, but, I need a favor from you."

"Of course you do," I grumbled.

"Bianca and her family are coming over for dinner."

"Her family?" I questioned making my father close his eyes and let out a breath.

"Her parents, grandparents and siblings," he explained. I nodded slowly, understanding. "I need you to be on your best behavior. I really really like her," he admitted. I pursed my lips together, not really liking the fact that my father has a new girlfriend but I can't prevent him from being happy, as he's extremely happy.

"OK." I grumbled out, brat-like. My father smiled weakly before kissing the top of my head. "Can Chance stay? He's the only person that will keep me calm throughout dinner." I tried to reason. My father rolled his eyes but nodded nonetheless.

"If he wants to stay, yes." I smiled before kissing my father's cheek and thanking him before going back into my room and throwing myself on Chance, causing him to fall on his back with me on top of him.

"Damn, Har. I knew I was sexy but 'gahh damn', you didn't have to tackle me like I was a quarterback and you are the defensive end." he said making me giggle and he groaned. "You're heavy, move," he said pushing me gently.

"I'm not that heavy," I said as I sat up, straddling him.

"I beg to differ," he joked, sitting up and putting his hands on my hips to hold me in the position. "Now what's up?" he asked.

"Can you stay for dinner?" I asked. He rolled his eyes playfully, with a smirk on his face before nodding.

"Of course I'll stay." I smiled back, grateful for him and then leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Thank you for being the greatest best friend ever," I mumbled into his neck.

"Anything for you, my Queen."

"Har! Chance! Could y'all set the table please?" my father called out to me and Chance. I looked up at Chance as we were mid-game of Mappy. He pouted before purposely letting us lose. I sighed standing up and stretching, as we were in the same position for the past hour. I was laying in between his legs and he had his arms wrapped around me. I had gotten uncomfortable about ten minutes in but didn't complain, as I didn't want to disturb him.

"You good?" he asked as he stood up and put his shoes on. I looked over at him and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said with a soft smile.

"You were uncomfortable, weren't you?" he asked as if he knew me inside and out. I pursed my lips together before nodding. "Why didn't you say something, Har? I had no problem moving around to accommodate you." I shrugged.

"It's ok," I mumbled.

"No, it's not. You're probably sore and aching." he walked up behind me and then put his hands on my shoulder and started massaging me gently. I let out a mewl at the relief and relaxed in his touch. "This feel good?" he asked softly. I nodded frantically.

"Harmoni and Chance!" my father shouted making us both jump as if he just caught us doing something wrong.  "Come on, they're going to be here any minute." I looked back at Chance and smiled weakly.

"We can finish this later," he said, putting his hand on the small of my back and then leading me out of the room. I bit my lip and then jogged down the steps to the kitchen. I grabbed the plates while Chance grabbed the cups and utensils.

We worked on the table with little banter back and forth and my father butting in every so often. I was mid giggle when there was a knock on the door. I looked over at my father who looked at me and Chance and sighed.

"Why are you wearing his shirt?" my father asked panicking. I looked down at the shirt I was wearing and furrowed my eyebrows. I was wearing a loose flannel dress that I was wearing as a shirt. I guess since it was loose, he thought I was wearing Chance's shirt but in reality, it was mine. I looked back up at my father and shook my head.

"This is a dress." he groaned before shaking his head.

"Find something not so homey. I want this to be a good dinner," he said as he walked towards the door. I looked over at Chance who raised his eyebrow.

"What's wrong with my dress?" I questioned.

"Come on. Let's just change to ease your dad's mind," he said before leading me back upstairs to change. I grabbed another dress out of my closet, the first dress I seen and then turned and quickly got undressed then pulled the other dress on.

"Shit, I didn't know there was a strip show going on." Chance said making me turn to him shocked.

"Get the fuck out!" I shouted pushing him out the room. He laughed.

"I didn't see anything, just as you were adjusting your dress," he said on the other side of the door.

"You're an ass."

"I love you too."

Once I was properly dressed, we both walked downstairs, to finally greet the guest and I swallowed hard as I made eye contact with one I wished I never met and would leave in school, once I leave his class.
