sleep anymore,
it's an escape"

One More Mistake
Chapter two

❱  Once lunch started I had waited a while before heading to the cafeteria. The whole room was already full of people, and I regretted not coming here earlier. When I spot Alexis's table I had started to walk towards it. For the first couple weeks of school I wouldn't be in the cafeteria, I would either be in the library or in my home room.

Alexis was talking to Nate but it looked like he wasn't hearing any of it, instead he was on his phone just nodding his head. Nate Jackson push his glasses up his nose and continued to nod his head while tapping away but soon looked up when I cleared my throat. His pale blue eyes looking curiously at me. I smiled tightly before taking a seat in-front of them.

"Oh you're here" Alexis said as she jumped in her seat. I puckered my lips as I shrug my shoulders. "You never come, what was the change of mind?" she asked but I just shrug my shoulders. She soon started to talk more more but I blocked her out. My eyes were trained into the beautiful tall boy who had the most beautiful eyes here in Royal high.

"Raine" Alexis soon yelled out and made me snap out of the daze. My eyes had automatically met brown eyes. A girl who wore a sweater and some ripped jeans had smiled at Alexis who was pulling her down to sit down. Her body slumped down next to me. "Meet Raine Harris, she's new here, well sort of. Nate this Raine. Raine this is Thea" Alexis introduced as she pointed at me and Nate. I waved hello as did Nate but he actually smiled kindly at her. She said a low Hey before putting her bag down.

"So, how do you like here in Royal high?" Alexis asked as she glanced at me.

"I mean I haven't been here long enough but so far it's been great" she said as she glanced behind Alexis and right away knew who she was looking at. Of course she would find them memorizing. I don't blame her though, I once did too. Alexis soon noticed too and looked at them, soon I found Nate's and mines eyes on them as well. They all seem to do their own thing even though they were in the same table. Linda was talking with Ysabel, while Owen and Alexandra were in their own little world, lastly sterling and Rory were in a very intense conversation, it almost seemed like Rory wanted to punch Sterling. It made me curious to know what they were talking about.

Soon I looked away and so did Raine and Nate, but Alexis was still staring. Soon we all had became quiet, with our thoughts. With my mind on someone, I had looked up and found them already on me. We both stared blankly at each other and I remember something. It hurt but at the same time it made me mad. Sterling looked away first and looked back into the eyes of Rory. Rory Clark was a strange guy, we all didn't know anything about him. He was always just there with them, but everyone could see he ruled all of them.

It bothered me somehow.

Soon lunch ended and we had to head to class. After lunch, i went to my last two classes before school ended. With a cloudy afternoon, I headed my way to the hospital to meet with Caine. I parked my car as close to the entrance because on my way here it had started to rain. I put on my hoodie and in a quick moment, I opened my door and slammed it shut before jogging towards the hospital. Once I was inside, I took off the hoodie and made my way towards Caine's room. With a knock, I made my way inside. A smile spreads on Caine when he sees me, and I couldn't help but do the same.

"Thought you weren't going to make it today" he said as he sat up and I slowly sat next to him. I grabbed his hand and looked at his way. His pale blue eyes only stared at mine with happiness and warm ness. I couldn't help but think of how much time Ill get to see him until I wouldn't be able to. My heart ache at that thought, I wasn't ready.
