One More Mistake
Chapter three

❱  I made my way back to Caine's room and gathered all my thoughts before entering. When Rory and I had "bumped" into each other. We didn't say anything else besides address ourselves. Rory and I didn't exactly know each other but since I was involved with many of his friends, we knew each other. But that didn't mean I didn't hate him as mush as I hated all of his friends and I know he doesn't quite like me either.

"Thanks for leaving me with my parents. Did you know what they were telling me? They kept on talking how they would bring my little cousins to visit me. You've met my cousins before and you would know that they are little devils. How-" he soon stopped talking when he seen me standing by the door with a thoughtful look on my face. His face soon changed into a curious look.

"I've seen Rory, here in the hospital" I say as look at Caine, waiting for a reaction but I didn't get one. He only gave me one fo those looks of his. I wanted to know what he was thinking. I walked towards him and sat next to his legs. I raised my eyebrows as if asking, what were his thoughts.

"Rory, as in Rory Clark?" I nodded my head and looked away. Rory and Caine weren't the very best friends. They hated each other's gut, and I have no idea why only that Rory did something to Caine. He didn't tell me the rest because he didn't want to get "into it". Whenever I as ask, he always seems to brush it off and say that now wasn't the time.

"Do you know who he was visiting?"I snapped my eyes back towards his and shook my head. I actually didn't know why Rory was here in the first place. It obviously has to be because he has someone in the hospital but the question is, who?

After spending a while more in the hospital, I left home. I was glad that my uncle wasn't going to arrive early today, it happens every Tuesday. He always stays at his office. Yesterday I had to leave early because I knew he was going to come out early but either way he caught me. My uncle does let me go out sometimes, whenever I have a security guard with me. Thats why I sneak away to go wherever I want without a guard following me along. I arrived at the house and parked my car right outside.

I hurriedly put on my jacket and jogged towards the glass double doors. The rain was still pouring down when I left the hospital but now it was just sprinkling. I took of my coat and put it to the side as well as my shoes. I didn't noticed the figures that were standing right by the staircase until I looked up. My eyes widen a little when I saw two security guards stood by his side. Bruce didn't smile or greet me (not that I was expecting it) he only threw a glare at me. His face was stern and I couldn't help but be afraid. The two guards looked intimating as well.

He looked at the two guards and just like that they left the room leaving me and Bruce alone. I wasn't supposed see him until tomorrow, he wasn't supposed to be here early. In a sudden movement he made his way towards me. He was now a good feet apart from me.

"So this is what you do when I'm not here," he asked  calmly but it didn't really sound like a question, it was more like a statement. "Where were you?" He the asked a second later. I tightly smiled at him and took a step before lifting my arms up.

"It's not really your concern, is it?" I asked with a sneer. Before I can utter anything else he gets me by my upper arm and pulls me towards him. His face was almost evil when I looked back at him. He had a sinister smile on and i couldn't help but to get shaky. My heart started thumping in my own ears, and my breath stopping when he starts holding my throat in one hand.

"Don't, ever. Ever, speak to me that way, understand?" He asked while holding me harder by my arm and throat. Tears were pricking by the corner of my eyes while trying to get away from him. Bastard, murder! I wanted to spit it to his face, and make him remember who he is but I couldn't because he was holding me by the throat.

"Kace" He called out while still having his eyes one me. He was holding me too tight even his vain was popping in his forehead. I was now reaching towards his face, trying to get ahold of something but I've got nothing.

"Yes, Sir" a deep voice called and soon his strong hand let me go, making me fall on the floor taking big breaths. I grab my throat as I was coughing profusely. Tears were now streaming down. I look at Bruce with hate, pure hate. His eyes didn't show anything but just blankness. I stood and ran up the stairs towards my room but before I could leave he spoke out.

"Kace is your security guard now so get used to it because your not going anywhere by yourself anymore." I glare at him and look at the figure that was stood next to him. His eyes were on me, and I couldn't help but glare at him too. He didn't show anything either and just stared at me. Without saying anything back, I get inside my room with a bang. He can't do this, he can't have a guard follow me everywhere I go. I can't have some person follow me, I wouldn't stand it.

I couldn't stand being here in room locked the whole night. I needed to this leave this darn place, it was hell for me. Bruce hasn't tried anything on me that had hurt me but today he took it too far and it scared me, I was now wondering how far he can go. I paced around my room until I decided to leave that house and go somewhere else. I put on a dress and did my makeup, I didn't have anywhere to go but the club that was near here. I was underage but I knew the manger very well and I knew how to get to him. It wasn't hard to do actually, all I do is pay him the right amount of money and I'm in the club.

Once I was done with getting ready, I tried to sneak away but the stupid guard was standing outside my room. This one was different, he looked older and more imitating then the other one. I groaned and looked at my window. It was the only way out of this place, and I really didn't have any choice. I made my way towards the window and pulled them up, opening them wide. I slid in my foot then the other and soon I slowly came down the window towards a handle that was near my window. Since I was facing the wall, I couldn't see how much I needed to reach the ground so when I let go I fell right on my butt landing on the dirty grass. I closed my eyes and my mouth so I wouldn't make a sound.

"Where are we planning to go Ms, Nightingale?" A deep voice asked, making my eyes snap open. I've seen a figure standing near my head. His eyes lit with amusement and a small smile was playing on his lips. I almost didn't recognize him as Kace, the body guard. He looked more at ease then he did before when he was with Bruce. I groaned and slowly stood up, with no help from this guy. I tightly smiled at him and took a step aside, ready to run but he seemed to know what I was trying to do so he also moved.

"Look, I'll give you double then your boss gives you. Deal?" I asked and he just stared at me like I wasn't being serious. I crossed my arms across my chest and raised my eyebrows as in, so?

"My boss told me you were going to offer me that," he declared and I almost wanted to go to Bruce and stop him from controlling my life. Why couldn't he just let me go out and have fun? I asked myself but I already knew the answer to that was.

"Okay well, don't tell him I told you that and I double it more?" I said and he looked away and I almost thought he was laughing but I couldn't tell. He looked back at me and shook his head. "So where are we planning to go?" He then asked again and I knew I couldn't do anything more. It always works, why doesn't it work on him?

I eye him warily, and only see a guy in his early twenties with a suit, looking like a normal security guard. He must be rich or stupid for not accepting this offer.

I rolled my eyes and mumbled a 'fine' and started walking towards my car, Kace in tow. Once I made it towards my car, he took the CVR that was parked over to side. I thought of leaving him but I knew he would eventually catch up to me and it would be immature of me. I got on and opened the Black gates and made my way out, and before I can look behind to check if he were following, I hear a honk and a car pull up to my side. The windows were tinted but I could still see a figure in the passenger seat. Knowing he could see me, I smiled at him and accelerated, leaving him behind.
