Charlie

Christina and I are in my room currently trying to find something for us to do. It's been a week and a half since the last time I saw him and Sadie was going crazy. And I was too, but he wasn't making an effort.

"Ugh Charlie there is nothing to do here, just come with me to the castle and let's work out, watch a movie, and go swimming. I'm tired of being cooped up in here." Christina said looking at me with puppy eyes. I didn't want to go in case I did run into him.

"Fine, let me change," I said getting up.

"Nope, no time for that let's go."

I looked at my outfit after being dragged out of my room and I wanted to faint. I was wearing leggings and a white crop T, with sandals. Not to mention that I didn't Bruch my hair today and my thick curls were sitting crazily on my head in a done bun.

Christina drove us to the castle so it made the trip a whole lot faster than I had wanted, it was my first time here other than being in a ballroom and it was magnificent, to say the least. We were walking through the halls and I saw Christina rush past me, ran in and jumped into Trey's arms, and gave him quick pecks on his lips, making me jealous that I haven't had that with Damon, or anyone.

"Hey it's nice to finally meet you, I'm Trey." He said and I shook his hand as he flashed me a smile.

"Yeah, you too," I said awkwardly as she still hugged him.

"Alright so let's go to the movie room and watch something, Trey, baby you want to join?" Christina asked as she looked deeply into her eyes.

"Yeah, and I'm sure Robert would like to join, and maybe even Damon." Shivers ran up and down my spine. Would I be seeing him today?

"Alright let's do this thing." Christina chirped out and I followed them for what seemed like forever until we finally made it into the room. There was a huge screen and 10 very comfortable-looking recliners in front of it.

"Hey Charlie, how about you sit and Trey and I will get everyone and get out snacks." I nodded an okay and sat at the one closest to the wall in the back row.

I don't know how much time had gone by but I was getting antsy and anxious. They had been gone for a while and I was getting bored. I didn't bring my phone because Christina snatched me out of the room before I could grab it. And I had no idea how to turn the TV on. Then that all too intoxicating smell hit my nose and I couldn't help but turn to see where it was coming from.

I looked over at the door and locked eyes with the silver eyes I have come to love.

"Hi," He said nervously, I guess it was the appropriate thing to say given the circumstance.

He started walking slowly towards where I was sitting and then stopped I guess waiting to see if I was comfortable with him being so close. I mean do I want him to? Yeah. But should I? No.

"Can I?" He said pointing to the seats next to me.

And I just nodded and waited as he sat down. It was awkward and thick and I couldn't even think. I could just feel him staring at me and it was king me extremely self-conscious.

"What?" I asked as I turned and looked at him.

"Nothing, I just like looking at you." I felt my cheeks heat up a bit but I tried my best to hide my face.

"I missed you." He spoke once he realized that I wasn't going to say anything back.

I could feel how sincere he was being. But I couldn't help but feel angry, if he missed me then why didn't he try to contact me? Or to see me?

"Sure you did," I said tearing my eyes from his. I don't know why but I wanted to cry.

"Charlotte, don't ever doubt my feelings for you. Yes, I may not have been able to see you as much as we like, but I have some things I need to take care of before I can fully pursue you."

"What does that even mean?" I asked him, I felt my heart wrench why couldn't he?

"There's so much I want to tell you but I can't yet. It's classified and I can't talk about it too much with anyone." I could tell he was getting conflicted in his mind. That he wanted to tell me, but he couldn't.

"You can't talk to me about anything else?" I looked deep into his eyes and I got swept away.

"I wish you knew just how I felt, just how much I want to be with you."

"You can. If you want. We just don't have to talk about that." My voice was barely above a whisper and his eyes were still glued to mine.

"Can you do that?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I can. And I will. I'm going to be better."

Did I believe him? Yeah. That was the problem. Before I could respond, Christina walked back in with Trey, with chips, popcorn, candy, really every type of snack there was, with a bunch of different sodas.

"Gosh took you guys long enough! I was getting worried you forgot about me." I said running up to them grabbing Twizzlers, popcorn, and water forgetting that he was sitting there. It felt like the tension was almost gone now that they were back.

"Sorry, we got a little distracted," Trey said winking over at Christina.

"Hey Charlie, don't eat too much," Damon said getting up and grabbing some snacks.

"We have a royal dinner tonight and I would love for you to be there. With me." He turned and asked me.

"Yeah, sure," I muttered softly, avoiding eye contact, and turned and walked back to my seat.

Damon followed and there was a space between us, I was thankful for that. Who knows what would have happened if we got that close? We started the movie and the door opened and Robert walked in and looked slightly irritated.

"Wow Trey, I thought you would at least wait for me." He said faking hurt feelings, at least I thought. But it honestly looked like he was hurt.

"You're such a crybaby chill! Get over here." Robert ran over to Trey and tackled him, they wrestled around for a little bit until Damon sat up and watched.

"HEY! Really without me? Guys we talked about this!"

Then he jumped in on the wrestling. His smile was contagious and I couldn't help but smile watching him.

I had only seen him when he was in alpha mode, or when he was being serious. It was nice to see him being fun and playful.

"Alright, boys let's watch this movie!" Christina yelled, you could hear the annoyance in her voice. She started the movie and the boys got up and went to sit down. Damon again left a space between us and handed me a blanket leaving him without one. He crossed his arms and it was slightly chilly, so I knew he was cold.

"We can share a blanket I don't mind," I whispered to him.

He turned to me and gave me a look making sure it was okay. Instead of responding I just moved the blanket and waited for him to move over. He slowly moved towards me, but not too close. Our legs were touching and it was electricity. I wanted him to hold my hand, to pull me closer. I needed him too. I needed to feel wanted by him.

But it didn't happen. Why didn't it happen?
