Gone for good

My eyes flutter open, still heavy with anxiety. My body felt like it was giving up on me, every shiver my body produced, a wave of aches would fire back. My head was throbbing and pounding when I tried to get a grip of my self.

"Jade..." a faint voice called.

"Jade can you hear me?" It's getting closer.

"Jade look at me." who ever was speaking I could hear them clearly now, my vision on the other hand was just a big blur.

"W-where?" I managed to croak out.

"It's me, Alan." I frantically looked around to find a ginger, but I couldn't focus. I can't focus.

"Austin?" I said almost inaudible.

"I'm right here." he snapped his fingers on my left ear giving me an indication of where he was located.

"D-drink... please."

"Open your mouth." I did as Alan told me, I could tell who was who now by their voice. I opened my mouth, my jaw was sore by this simple task.

"So cold." I whispered.

I felt Austin's hand in my forehead, but he yanked away as if I burned him. "You're burning up Jade."

"Are my eyes even open?" I managed to put together a sentence without fail. Go me.

"No?" Alan said confused.

"Maybe that's why I can't see..." I let an involuntary laugh out.

"Dork." Austin chuckled.

"Austin... Alan. Snuggle with me I'm freezing."

"I wish..." Alan's voice was laced with sadness.

"Why?" I coughed.

"You're in the hospital. Your ribs are broken, do you remember why?" Austin questioned me.

"I want to see your faces... I'm scared right now! I just can't do this anymore!" I started crying, my eyes betrayed me, every time I opened them I could only see blurs.

"Jade stop. You have to take it easy, your vision is only temporary." I didn't know this voice...

"What's happening? I'm confused..." I sounded like a toddler without their parents that was lost in the mall or something.

"Austin and Alan brought you to the hospital, I'm Dr. Pauley and I'm here to inform you of your ribs."

"What happened?"

"Well you're bullies were quite nasty about your health, lets just say that the police have them in custody for assault." assault? Is this real! So that means no more beatings from Syd or Ty and no more harassment from July? I'm free! finally!

"Jade?" Alan whispered. I hadn't realised I had been laughing so hard my ribs felt even more broken. I probably look like a mental freak, but I don't care, I want them to rot in hell.

"What did they even do to me?! Last time in the hospital wasn't enough to get the polices attention?! Man I guess it took only around 40 attacks to finally get rid of them!" I laughed like it was the best joke I've ever heard, but tears fell anyway.

Austin explained what happened, I couldn't help but feel soooo guilty what I did to both of them. I put them in pain too, I'm useless. why do they even bother.

"Thank you..." I whispered before falling back to sleep.
