"Yah, Jae!" Jae startled at the yell, whipping her head to look at Yoongi who had been calling her name. "Aish, are you ok? I called your name so many times before you replied," he said.

Jae nodded. "I'm fine. What's up, why'd you call for me?" she asked.

"Nothing much, just wanted to ask if you could help me with a new song. Grab your headphones, you're gonna need to hear every beat in this melody."

The two walked into Yoongi's studio after Jae grabbed her specially made set of headphones. They worked for awhile, tweaking Yoongi's draft bit by bit as usual. By the end of it, both members walked out of the studio, tired and ready for bed. Yoongi wished Jae a good night and Jae walked to her studio to drop off her headphones before she went to bed. She couldn't help but think that the volume seemed to be a bit off today. She dismissed the thought, blaming it on the headphones and the possibility they were getting old.

One and a Half Weeks Later...

The group was wrapping up a concert rehearsal and they went back into their dressing room after finishing the last song. Jae went to her manager to tell him that her in-ear sounded dull and she couldn't hear some of parts of the songs clearly. He said it may just be a faulty piece and they'd get her a new one for the performance the next day.

The Next Day...

The concert had ended and Jae was confused and frustrated. The earpiece seemed to not work properly again and she felt as though she had missed a few beats because she couldn't hear everything clearly. The group started to change and get ready to head back to the hotel but Jae just sat down on a couch, running her hands through her hair frantically and then holding her head in her hands.

She felt a warm hand on her back and she looked up to see Namjoon standing over her, his face a mixture of concern and warmth. He sat next to her and talked in low tones as the rest of the group talked about the night's events.

"How are you? Something bothering you?" he asked. Jae sighed deeply before speaking.

"Just some in-ear malfunctions. I wasn't able to hear the songs well enough and I think I missed some steps during the dances. I also sang a part late because I didn't even hear the song get to my section," she ranted to the leader, "And this isn't the first time. Yesterday, during rehearsal my in-ear wasn't working properly. And recently, my headphones haven't been compensating for my partial hearing loss. I don't know what's going on. I thought it was just faulty equipment but I'm getting a feeling it's more than that."

Namjoon put his arm around her, bringing her figure closer to him in a comforting hug. "Don't worry about it, I'm sure it's just been a coincidental series of faulty equipment. What do you say we take you to a doctor and check it out just to make sure though? This could just be an effect of the original malfunction," he said as he ran his hand up and down her arm in a reassuring manner.
