Friends of Gems

Within my possession is a variety of gems.
I need to determine between all my friends which is perfect for them.
To start things off, we have a ruby.
However most of my friends match this gem loosely.
But I think the ruby should go to Diana,
For her warm welcoming heart and ever-long stamina.
Next on my list is the deep blue sapphire,
This gem should go to a person of wisdom,
With book smarts and common sense, his heart's a campfire.
So looking at my friends, it's perfect for William.
Now we move on to the rich amethyst,
They are royalty, not by blood, but through purification does she exist.
Both rich in gold, treasures and spirit,
The purple gem shall be given to Bridget.
Next up we have the greenest of emeralds,
The one who gets this has the peace of ten temples.
With healing to spare, and personal growth,
I think this gem belongs to Kevin and Roxana both.
Up next is the one and only sparkling pearl,
For this gem I've saved for a very special girl.
She is both generous and twice as pure,
Throughout the hard times she does ever endure.
For this gem I think belongs to no other,
For this gem I've saved just for my mother.
The topaz is for one of love and affection,
I can think of many who share this connection.
But rising above the rest is a man,
Who shows compassion for all, his name is Dan.
Finally we have a diamond in hand.
This was the toughest to give where I stand.
This gem is for the most deserving,
Someone who when it comes to themselves are more than reserving.
This person shines above the rest,
They even make time to make sure the others are blessed.
To the diamond I give to my closest friend,
Jasper, you'll always be remembered, even to the end.
With this I'm left with no gems in my pocket,
I've nothing left to give, not even a locket.
With everyone taken care of, all that's left is me,
All I can do is sit under this tree.
While I wait for the fall of the sun flying so high,
I'll know that in life, there are those better than I.
