Toni is a 17 year old girl who moves from her hometown Ottawa to the much smaller Riverdale, the town where everyone knows everything about each other, but at the same time nothing is as it seems. She is very sweet and cute, but also shy and insecure and that's why she had often been the target of school bullies, but she was hoping this time it would be different.
Cheryl is a 18 year old girl who lives in Riverdale and goes to the Riverdale high school where she is the queen bee and almost everyone is scared of her. She calls herself the HBIC (head bitch in charge), she's bossy, bitchy, confident and self centered. She's also very stubborn and always gets what she wants. If she really cares about someone she can become very possessive, almost in a dangerous way.
