After a few hours of waiting around for classes to end, I found myself in the nearby cafe because I had about 15 minutes left before class ended. I though I would get Sam and I some coffee as some sort of a, "I'm sorry for making you worry about me." sort of thing. I wrote down a little message to place the orders because that's what I normally do when I have to order something. I wrote down the order, my name, and I explained that I'm mute and that I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I handed it to the clerk and she looked a little puzzled at first but after reading it for a moment and flashed me a reassuring smile and turned around to make the 2 coffees.

It was practically empty in the cafe because the majority of the people that come here is college kids. I saw a few college students that also didn't have class today, like me. It's feels weird to see it like this. She called my name and I pulled my wallet out and paid her. She smiled at me and told me to have a nice day as I was grabbing the two hot beverages and I gave her a nod with a small smile. I walked out into the crisp cool fall day.

With all the time I had I went back to my apartment and grab my jacket, and yes, Sam's scarf. I glanced down at my watch and I have about 10 minutes to get to the school. Well that's great timing because it usually takes a little under 10 minutes to get there form the cafe. What luck? I got to the school entrance about 3 minutes before class was over. I suddenly stopped when I realized, all those students will be coming out at once. And they're all going to look at me because that's just what people do when they see a person when they don't expect to see a person there.

My heart rate immediately skipped a beat and I put my coffee down on the ground so I could turn my watch off so it wouldn't be loudly going off the entire time. As I picked up my coffee, I could hear the bell ring. Class has just ended. Oh boy, here we go. I started staring at the ground because eye contact is literally the worst thing. After about 30 seconds I could hear the doors open. I tried to hide myself to the best of my ability without looking like a weirdo if someone saw my trying to hide.

Suddenly I felt a large hand grab my shoulder with a firm grip. I jumped so hard that the mystery person jumped too. I snapped my head up so see that the mystery person was Sam, and he looked almost as shocked as I was.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that Gabe. Are you feeling okay? You've been spaced out and you're kinda shaking a bit."

I looked down at my arms to see that I was visibly shaking a bit. I haven't even noticed. I tried to speak but nothing came out despite the conversations I had with myself at my house to get my voice speed normal and my throat didn't hurt after every conversation. It's probably because of the situation that I'm in right now. I just gave him a reassuring smile to show that I'm okay now. I gestured Sam's coffee to him and he just smiled at me.

"Is that for me?"

I nodded and gestured it again. His smile got even bigger smile and he took it from my hand, his warm fingertips gently brushing against my hand that sent a chill down my spine.

"Aw Gabe, you didn't have to do that."

I'll never get tired of seeing him smile like that. It's true happiness, and it's rare to see that on someone, but it's better to see that on the person you have feelings for. I could tell that in this exact moment, this is exactly where he wants to be.

He took a drink and a small sliver of his hair that tucked behind his ear fell in front of his face. He made eye contact with me as he was putting it back behind his ear and he started smirking because he caught me staring. I started blushing and rolled my eyes and I grabbed his sleeve and started walking.

"Oh so we're going this way? Okay. Saying how you can't talk, or talk right now, I'll let you take me wherever."

He suddenly stopped to make me turn around. I looked up at him and his face was suddenly serious.

"I trust you Gabriel."

I started blushing even harder and a huge smile spread across my face. I pulled him forward and started walking again. I eventually let go of his arm because I'm pretty sure he can follow without a guide. Unlike me, where I would get distracted so fast I would end up getting lost.

Before I knew it, I found Sam and I outside of my apartment. I didn't intend to come here, in fact I was just kind of walking. I would go wherever my feet would take me, and I guess that's home. I turned around and looked at Sam and he looked at me with a quizzical look. He didn't look alarmed, not in the slightest. I guess he must really does trust me after all.

I smiled up at him and grabbed his sleeve again. I walked up the steps to the apartment building and we made our way up to my apartment. I unlocked the door and pushed the door open for the moose to make his way in. Honestly I didn't think he'd make it through the door way without him hitting his head. That thought made me chuckle a little bit which caught Sam's attention, but he didn't ask.

The moment he walked in I closed the door and swiftly made my way around him to take his bag and his coat for him with my free hand. He just smiled and giggled at me.

"Wow what a gentleman. First you open the door for me and then you take my bag and my coat for me. Do you treat all of your friends like this?"

He said the last question with a smirk and I gave out a laugh that was probably a little too loud.

"Well I'm not a really social person and my only other friend I have is a childhood friend who's a lesbian, and I'm super gay so no. I guess it's just you."

I saw a spark of what seemed to be excitement in his eyes. He smiled a little bit and turned his head, but I think I saw a little blush on his face. Why did I have to say that I'm super gay instead of just saying I'm gay like a normal gay person?

"Oh, and welcome to my apartment. Any home of mine is a home of yours, so please, make yourself comfortable."

He looked back at me and suddenly hugged me. My face instantly started to heat (of the moment) (sorry not sorry) up and I hugged him back.

"Thank you Gabriel. You don't know how much this means to me."

He let go of me and headed over to the couch to sit down while I hung up his jacket and put his bag on the counter. I walked over to the couch and sat beside him. I saw that he already put his coffee on a coaster on the coffee table in front of the couch and so I followed after him.

He seemed to be taking in every part of the apartment, almost as if his life depended on it. The little spark in his eyes made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Why did I have to fall for the first male I become friends with?
