My head ached as I rose from the dusty ground.
I was in an empty room.
When I say empty room I mean complete empty room.
Not even a light switch.
I was standing on a hard wooden floorboards and the ceiling was moldy white.
The floorboards creaked whenever I moved my foot so I had to be careful not to move around too much.
"Awake finally, I see." A voice came from behind me.
I jumped and looked round.
"D-Dumbledore?" I shrieked.
Dumbledore put his hands in the air in defeat.
"You kidnapped me?" My eyebrows furrowed. "And to think I trusted you!"
He shook his head sadly. "I would say I'm sorry but as I'm not my attempt would seem rather fruitless. I am still to be trusted Karen, do not worry, I only come with a message for you from your own time."
My eyes widened "What do you mean my own time? And why does everyone keep calling me Karen?"
"Memory loss?" Dumbledore smiled warmly. "Ahhh yes she told me."
"I know about the memory loss. Who told you?"
"Questions, questions." Dumbledore sighed.
"Questions with no answers!" I protested.
"All in good time." Dumbledore said. "Now to get to the point. I came back here to give you this letter." He passed me a slightly crinkled piece of parchment from the folds of his robes.
"Don't open it till your alone though, is that clear?"
I nodded shakily.
"And remember to give my past self that letter. I know you haven't yet by my resources."
"Your past self?" I repeated. "You mean your from the future."
"Both of us." Dumbledore sighed. "I really must be going now or else I might course a disturbance in the time and space continuum."
"But what about me?" I asked, worried.
"Grab hold of my left arm." Dumbledore ordered.
I did as he said and regretted it immediately.
It was like my body was being compressed and my gut squeezed out.
My vision was all dizzy so I closed my eyes tightly to stop myself vomiting.
I felt my feet touch solid ground again and opened my eyes.
Dumbledore was gone but I was exactly where had been before he 'kidnapped' me.
The letter was in my hand and I ached to rip it open...but no.
I had so many things to do first.
