Shock. That was the only word that I felt when she said those words, and I knew that it was seen on my face by the way Serenity stared at me with a look of hurt.

"I'm a Werewolf." She said it with such certainty that I knew she knew it was true or believed it. How she had heard that she was a Werewolf, I didn't know, but I didn't care while I kept my hands on her cheek. "I'm a Werewolf."

Serenity tried to pull my hand away from her face, but I wouldn't let her move it. "Let me go," she said, her voice soft and firm. Tears filled her eyes, and I had a feeling that it was because I did not say a word. "You don't believe me," she whispered. "So, let me go."

I shook my head. 'Mom?' I asked, not knowing what to do. I didn't want to let her go. I didn't know what she would do if I let her go.

'Let her go,' Mom said, and I was about to protest before she growled a small warning through the link. 'Let her go and bring her to the office. See if she will go with you. I will meet you both there.'

I pressed my lips into a thin line, dissatisfied but didn't question her. I had no idea what she was thinking of doing and prayed that she would have a way to calm Serenity's fears. I had no idea if Mom would tell her that she was in a place of Werewolves and hoped that she would. But for now, I did what I was told to do and took my hand off of Serenity's cheek.

She took a step back, her eyes wide, and her face was an unreadable mask. "You don't believe me," she said after she searched for something in my expression. "Or you are scared of me." She groaned and placed a hand on her forehead in pain.

"Serenity?" I asked, taking a hesitant step forward. I studied her and prayed that she was alright. I didn't reach out to her because I knew that she wouldn't allow me to, and it pained for that was all I wanted to do. I wanted to take her in my arms and let her know that she wasn't alone.

Serenity shook her head and took another step back. "No," she said, her voice wavering. "Don't come near me. I am ok." She wasn't ok, but she didn't want me to know. She wanted to do this, whatever this was, on her own because her parents hadn't helped her, and I couldn't understand why not.

"Hey," I said, offering her a tight smile. "It's ok." I licked my lips and cleared my throat before I held out my hand, hoping that the bond would force her to take it.

Serenity's hand twitched, and she looked conflicted. She wanted to take my hand, wanted to feel the warmth and safety I could provide, but she didn't. "Are you scared of me?" she asked instead. Her voice was barely a whisper, and she looked at me with wide eyes.

I gave her a blank look. "I am offering my hand for you to take, Serenity," I said. "If I were, then I wouldn't offer it to you."

She hesitated and placed her hand in mine. "Do you believe me?" she asked, moving closer. Still, her voice was a whisper, but I didn't care because I could still hear her no matter how loud or soft she went.

"I do," I confirmed, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "Come on." Gently, I tugged at her hand and started to walk in the direction of the packhouse with my sister behind us.

"Why?"

I looked at her before I looked forward. "Because I have already told that this world is messed up," I said, choosing my words carefully. I didn't want to tell her that I was a Werewolf yet.

"Why did you look at me so shocked when I said it?"

I shrugged. "I thought you would have kept it to yourself," I replied, honestly. Well, I was partially honest. I didn't tell her that I was one either. "Since we just met again yesterday."

Serenity stayed silent, and I had to look at her again to make sure she was still there because holding her hand wasn't enough. Her brows were furrowed, and her lips were parted. Her eyes had this intense gaze in them while she looked at the floor that it took my breath away.

Beautiful... that was what she was. Beautiful in every shape and form. Her face was a little red from crying, and her eyes were puffy. Everything about her was disheveled, but I didn't care. To me, she was beautiful.

Finally, she looked up and noticed me staring at her. Her cheeks turned redder, and she blushed before she looked down again. "What?" she asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Why not?" I countered and smirked when she looked up and scowled. I cleared my throat and looked forward. "You looked like you wanted to say something," I said. "What was it?"

Serenity sighed and moved closer to me. She brushed against my arm, and I craved her touch even more after that. "You are just so... easy to talk to..." she replied, choosing her words carefully. "Why wouldn't I tell you?"

I shrugged my shoulders again while my wolf, Regulus, growled out in approval. I could tell that he was happy that the bond was working between us. "I don't know," I replied. "I thought there might be someone else."

Serenity stayed silent and furrowed her brows. "There is..." she said softly. "But... you were closer than she was, so I told you first."

"She?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow. I wasn't mad that she wanted to tell someone first. I had a feeling I knew who she was, even though I had no idea how she had gotten Serenity to trust her in a short matter of time. "Who is she?"

"Sam," Serenity replied instantly. "I want to talk to Sam. Do you know where she is?"

"I do," I confirmed. "And I am taking you to her." I glanced at my mate and watched her while she nodded her head.

Her brows were furrowed, and she looked worried. She didn't want my mom to think poorly of her, I could tell. "Can... you come with?" she asked, looking up at me. "Can you stay with me while I tell her I am a... you know?"

I nodded my head, my heart breaking into pieces. I had no idea what my mother had planned and knew that she had to come up with something if Serenity found out when she wasn't supposed to.

"Say it." Serenity said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please."

"I will stay," I said, my voice also barely above a whisper. "I will stay while you talk to my mom. I promise."
