[Store Opening]

My night consisted of incessant turns and groans under the covers of my bed. My brain was wide awake at the crack of dawn, almost fearing what Donghyuck would do today.

I wondered what personality he'd bring with him today. The first day I met him, he was kind of snobbish; the second day, he was really clingy and borderline annoying. But, I enjoyed his presence, not gonna lie.

He'd brought something with him, that clicked with me. It's almost as if I was immediately drawn to him from when I first saw him, for absolutely no reason.

There's only one thing though. I have not made one attempt to find any ancient ass comics for Hyuck. Honestly, I was planning to leave that to the next temporary worker to fix that for him. I was not the one.

I switched on the store's neon open sign like any other day. As my back was still turned, walking back to the counter, I only heard the door's bells jingle.

And as if I could feel his presence, I knew who exactly it was. I turned to greet him as my duties entails but he held the most awkward posture I think I've ever seen, and I couldn't repress the sweet smile that tugged on my features.

Oh. So, we're getting a bit of Awkward Hyuck on this fine Saturday morning.

I tried to do my last day of work well. Even if there weren't many customers, there's still a lot of work to get done to hand over my job to the next worker smoothly.

However, concentrating was very hard for me because as I tried to work, all I felt where Hyuck's eyes boring in the side of my face.

Although, he was without any distraction or forms of entertainment, he looked absolutely content. As if he was having fun just by staring into my skin. I have to say, he was cute.

But, from how my heart began to pound and how my mind failed to contain any piece of information for more than two seconds, I knew this wouldn't work much longer.

"How about we go around back?" I blurted out, noticing the erratic breathing patterns obvious in my voice.

Hyuck's eyes widened in response to my request. His eyes turned sheepish as he averted them quickly downwards.

His reaction caused me to realize how misleading my suggestion could have sounded and I reassured him panicking, that I only had my break soon.

Then we were in the break room, a dumb suggestion on my part. It was cramped, filled with boxes, stacks and clutter so there was even less space available as we sat close to each other in a tense silence.

I wasn't uncomfortable around Donghyuck. It's just that I didn't know him that well and there wasn't much to talk about anyway.

I ate in silence and tried to distract myself on my phone. Donghyuck looked like he was doing the same.

It wasn't long before I finished eating and he suggested we search for the books that he wanted.

"That one, right up there. Let's start with that box." Hyuck pointed eagerly to the box of comic books at the top of the stack, basically almost to the ceiling.

Now why that box of them all?

"We need a ladder to get there." I pointed out. "Can't we start somewhere else?"

He looked to me, staring me down with pleading eyes. "But, I want to start up there..."

I cracked. Going for the ladder, Donghyuck insisted he go up the ladder instead of, you know -the actual employee, me. So, I just relented and allowed him.
