A pair of intense steely blue eyes once again read the lines written on the paper by the man he once called a father and placed it down. He chewed his thumbnail, perplexed by the request written on the paper.

'Why? Why now at this certain age at that exact location of all places?' he asked himself. He knew that his father and his son were close, to think that he would end up trusting him with such a....unique task rather than himself.

Then again, he had bigger things to worry about than a wild goose chase- like running his company Max Tech.

Still, he knew that family have to come first. He fulfill this request either way- in respect and honor of him. To not do so would be an insult to the deceased and he would never stoop that low.

And so after contemplating for a while he came to a decision.

He sighed. He knew his father was quite the man when it came to adventures and thrills but this was truly something else. He ran a hand through his tousled brown hair that seemed neat yet messy at the same time.

Then he whipped out an advanced phone and dialed a call.

"Honey? Yes, I'm fine......oh, everything's splendid. Actually something has come up. Could you please be a dear and contact Edward and Evelyn? And pack your bags; we're taking a quick trip to Jasper, Nevada. Yes....I know...look it isn't my decision. Whose decision you ask? Well....that's what confuses me. For some reason, my father wants me to pass something to Ed. And he wants our son to help fulfill a 'request' of sorts....no, it is nothing dangerous, just a simple request that seems like an errand more than anything...uh huh....alright, we'll discuss this over dinner then."

He turned his phone off and once again read the pieces of paper called a will. He has gone over it a few times but this was his first time going over these pages in particular. What's more is that he had only discovered of their existence a month ago- coincidentally the same day he had gone to clear out some of his father's things, could he have planned all this from the start?

He shook his head and placed the will back into a file before shoving it into a drawer.

Whatever it was- it was soon going to be Edward's job- that much he knew. Then again, what's the worst that could happen?

If only he had known just what he had thrown his son into...... along with his daughter who was ignorant to how regardless of how this may turn out, fate had already brought her to where she needed to be.

Now, it was Edward's turn to board fate's transport.

Said boy was currently lounging in a chair in his 'lab' back in Jasper, Nevada.

He yawned in boredom and stretched his hands over his head. As he leaned back and tilted his head, his eyes fell upon the piece of metal he had found all those weeks ago.

He slid over, not bothering to get out of his swiveling chair and took up the piece of metal. He brushed off the dust and grains of sand on it and observed the logo once again.

He traced a finger over the lines and edges. What was this logo and what did it mean? It seemed to stare at him ominously as though daring him to try and unlock its secrets.

Then he shrugged. Perhaps he was overthinking. "I've got better things to do." He said and placed it back on the table before he went back to tinkering.

Unbeknownst to him, there was more to the world of Science and Technology than meets the eye......a world he would soon be entering.

Soon.
