"Mom! What the hell are you talking about?!" I shouted which made Nate wake and jump up from his chair.

I was so furious and irritated by what I just heard and since I wasn't really having such a great day, all my emotions burst out.

"Do not use that tone of voice with me young lady!" my mother reprimanded. "That's not something a princess--"

"Yes! It's not something a princess would do! Well guess what, this princess isn't going to marry someone just because you said so!" I shouted back.

"It's been decided!" my mother said, gripping the edge of the bed.

"Of course it's been decided! Everything in my life has been decided without me having a part in these decisions!" I argued as tears brimmed my eyes. "This is my life, Mom!"

My mom was ready to pull her hair out as she ran her hand through it but I was too angry to care.

"I know that this is your life and you should take part in these decisions," she said through her teeth. "But sometimes, your decisions cost us dearly and I will not take that chance when it comes to the next king who will rule our kingdom."

"So you're saying that I make bad choices?" I said with an accusing tone laced in my voice.

"Yes! That's exactly what I'm saying!" she shouted at me. "You've never been good at making choices and you never will be! Just because of your irrational actions, we've lost someone that I love so very much and it's all because of you!"

I stood there with wide eyes as I started to digest what my mother said. I never knew that she would tell it to me face to face. Tears fell down my cheeks as I stared at her. It seemed as if she too was shocked by what she said and we both stared at each other. When I finally had the will to speak, I said, "I love her too, Mom. And I regret what happened to her every second of my life."

"Isabella-" she started to say but I cut her off.

"But I don't think it's right to treat me like shit just because I'm the reason she's gone. I need a mom too but all I got is a disciplinarian," I said and wiped the tears off my face.

I took in my surroundings and saw that Nate's parents were there as well. They looked at me with horrified expressions and Nate was too shocked to even move from his chair. It was too much for me so I decided to rip off my IV and run away.

I didn't really know where I'm going but I kept running. People were staring at me but I didn't care. When I reached the park next to the hospital, I sat on the swing and covered my face with my hands as I cried.

I vaguely hear someone sitting on the other swing but the sound was muffled by my cries. I only raised my head when someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey blondie," Nate said with a smile.

I wiped my tears and said, "I don't particularly like being called 'blondie'. It's demeaning."

"Well, I ran out of nicknames," he said and shrugged.

"That's because you're not creative enough," I said.

"Well my being witty overcompensates my creativity," he said.
