Over the course of the next few days I drifted in and out of consciousness. Each time I saw glimpses of various aquatic monsters. A sea bishop gathering seaweed for bandages, a mermaid gliding back and forth as if to pace, an angler-mermaid helping the sea bishop by supplying light in the dark room, and a kraken who kept me in place with her tentacles. When I didn't open my eyes I would hear whispers.
"Do you think he's the one?" A gentle voice asked.
"It's hard to say, he had an awfully large amount of energy to be a normal man, but even if he is, the prophecy could always be referring to the heir of a man who was already down here. Even if he isn't, I can't bare to watch anyone drown like that, it's just cruel having the ability to save a life and not." Said a deeper voice to my side.
"Quiet... it's hard enough to keep him still while being worked on without him being awake. We're lucky that he only has momentary conscious moments so he doesn't reopen his wounds." Hissed a woman from behind me... or maybe all over me... she sounded a lot more mature but also had a deeper voice than the other two, it could be the kraken.
"I've done all I could do, we just have to wait. Sandra, could you keep him warm? It's terribly cold down here."
"Shelly, why can't I keep him warm?" Asked the gentle voices monster.
"Because you can't cover his entire body at once. Jen, can you occupy Sage?" Shelly asked.
"Alright." Said a woman with a light and wispy voice.
I felt as the kraken named Sandra wrapped her tentacles around me. She left enough space for her upper body to be able to press up against me.
"I hope you're the one human, if the surface of the oceans gets any thicker... I fear that nothing would be able to break through it and free us." She whispered.
That night I dreamt about the monsters who were most likely in position to charge the order's middle cities. My dream shifted and I was running from the ocean to the city only to find a valley with dead grass and many monster bodies. I heard struggling and ran in that direction. I saw Sarah who was on the ground and trying in vain to stand. I quickly kneeled next to her and she looked in my direction, although I didn't know if "looked" was the right term. She was missing one eye and the other was barely open and her eyelids were covered in blood.
"Y/N... I-I knew you weren't..." she trailed off,
I grabbed her paw but she disintegrated into a purple mist. I shouted her name, I knew this was a dream but it felt real.
"You're quite perceptive, human. This isn't a dream, it's the future, the future if you don't make it back to the front lines." Whispered a voice from behind me.
I turned around and I saw no one. What the hell was this?
"Hello?!" I shouted while attempting to hide my own fear.
I felt something against my neck and out of the corner of my eyes I saw a shiny metal blade that seemed to belong to a scythe.
"Human, we will meet one day, how soon that day comes depends on you. Whether it is in life or death depends on you as well, good luck, my little human."

I awoke suddenly to the frantic whispering of two girls.
"H-Human you're awake!" Stuttered Shelly.
I looked around slowly and found that I was surrounded by three of the girls and a kraken who still held me tightly.

"Thank you for saving me life but I need to go." I said.
"I wish we could honor your request but the surface of this ocean is being frozen by an unknown source."
"Take me to the surface then." I snapped.
The woman nodded and she led me to the surface. I was running on pure instinct at this point, I had to make it to the others. I placed my hand against the ice and imagined Fang. The ice began to melt around my hand and I managed to melt a hole big enough for me to climb through.
Surprisingly, the air wasn't cold, in fact it was actually warm.
I heard crying to my right and turned to see a Tsurara-onna. She looked up at me and immediately attacked. I didn't consider her doing this and I was knocked to the ground. I felt as icicles hit my skin and my insides felt like they were freezing. I cursed knowing full well what this meant and desperately fought to break free from her grip.
"Please wait!" I shouted.
"What's wrong? Scared?" The monster asked.
"Yes, but not of you." I answered.
"Then stop fighting!"
"Please! Here me out! The monster princess Sarah and her army are attacking the middle city border as we speak! A legendary dullahan said that if I don't go back to them they will die, and if they die the order wins, I know what kind of monster you are but if the order wins they will hunt every living monster including you! I don't care what happens to me but everyone is marching into a suicide attack because they're convinced that I'm dead! Please listen!" I begged.
The monster got off of me.
"Fine, but I will stay by your side to make sure that when you're done I will still have you."

She led me through the ice and onto the mainland. Once she was on the mainland the ice began to melt.

After an hour of walking I heard the sounds of gunshots and caught a glimpse of the order firing into the monsters that approached them. I ran in between the two forces and shouted for the monsters to stop.
The order stopped shooting and everyone in me line of sight looked stunned. At first I was confused, but then I caught a glimpse of the flattened ground to the sides of me. A faint purple glow seemed to reflect off of a barrier that seemed like a large wall. I had created this barrier based off of pure instinct. I heard the order shout an command to fall back. Once I was sure that they were gone I collapsed to the ground and the barrier crumbled around me as I lost consciousness.
