Still Chris's point of view...

Sarah was not in a very good condition. I was the only person as of now who was allowed to regularly see her and convey orders. So far the main priority was clear: find Y/N. This wasn't an easy task but we had some leads. The Arachne in the woods set up small webs that were unable to catch anything but were good for vibrations. The word around that area was a duel between two hellhounds with two smaller figures also being in the mix. We know one of the hellhounds ran off but she hasn't been seen or heard since.
I was sitting in a room that was mostly bare which was a major contrast compared to the girl who had purple fur covering a quarter of her body.
"Has anything else come up?" She asked.
I shook my head. "We might need to prepare for the scenario in which he didn't make it." I said.
the Cheshire Cat shook her head.
"No! He's alive I can feel that he's alive!" She snapped.
"What if the order got him? He would still be alive according to the standards of your magic but in reality it would be mercy to put a bullet in him." I responded.
"I would save him! I would bring him back! If his soul is still in his body I can save him!" She half shouted.
"If we can get to him." I said.

Y/N's POV
Things couldn't possibly get much worse. The order was hot on our trail and currently we were running away from gunshots as they cleared their way through the land with little regard for anything in their paths.
A bullet hit Fang in the back of her leg and she tumbled to the ground and tried in vain to get up.
"Xena, take Fang and get out of here!" I shouted.
"We're almost there don't do anything reckless!" She shot back.
"Do it or we won't make it at all!" I countered.
She nodded and picked up Fang as if she were nothing.
I stopped moving and watched as the order closed in around me. I put my hands in the air and felt as someone pushed me to my knees from behind. Guns clicked and I was surrounded.
"How many promotions do you think you'll get?" I half joked.
"Quiet." Growled a soldier.
"Sir, should we hunt down the other two that were with them?" Asked a soldier to my right.
"No, let them run as we have our prize." A woman in armor said.
I couldn't see her face yet I knew she wasn't a normal human, if she was one at all.
"0-10, knock him out." She said.
"On it." Said a soldier from behind me before everything went black.

Xena's point of view...

Y/N was correct, the order wasn't following us however I felt like I failed. I suddenly realized that I had just let one of the strongest humans on our side give himself up.
"Who are you? You look like a human yet you carry a hellhound like it's nothing."
I turned and saw a golem who looked at me curiously.
"I dost not have time at this moment to speak. I must get in to see thine leader." I said.
The golem nodded and the doors in front of me opened. I stepped inside and a zombie dragon followed by a Cheshire Cat ran to me as the doors closed.
Upon seeing that Y/N wasn't with here both of their expressions became cold and hard.
"I'm sorry my lady he gave himself up to ensure our safety." I stated.
Sarah clenched her fists and for a brief second I felt a strong surge of magic before it suddenly vanished and the Cheshire Cat fell to the ground.
"Doth not worry, I will get them back." I said.
"How can you be so certain?" Sarah's voice was almost a whisper.
"Trust me, my lady."

Two hours later...

Rapier in hand I walked along the path that we took. I didn't want to resort to using vampiric magic but if that's what it took to get Y/N back then so be it.
I wasn't a full vampire but when the sun went down I got an itch, an instinct coded into my mind that I could live without following. This was the instinct to give in and become a true vampire. Once in awhile I was able to indulge without turning, but it was dangerous. Just one drop of blood could trigger an addiction and that drop could turn into a liter and that addiction could turn into a natural part of me.

I shook that thought from my mind as the detention facility came into view. I was able to pass as a normal human so instead of immediately getting blasted they just raised their weapons and asked what I was doing here.
"Can you lower thine weapon?" I asked.
"You have five seconds to back up or we'll keep shooting until you resemble Caesar."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Sorry, the way you're dressed I would've figured you took the wrong turn out of Europe."
The other soldier laughed at this.
In a flash I cut down the first soldier and then the second.
"I'm only five hundred years old." I scoffed before walking past them.
It's not like they could've hurt me anyways, unless they were shooting splinters my vampiric half wouldn't let the rest of me die.
I heard something from my side and I sidestepped and tripped what was coming at me. One swift kick was enough to knock out the monster.
I walked through the base without much of an issue. The order was thought to have hunted vampires to extinction which was why no on came close to killing me.
"Y-your kind is dead!" Shouted a soldier.
I smiled. "Thou is not wrong."
The soldier fell to his knees and I walked past him. I was able to pick up on Y/N's scent and I picked up my pace.
I stopped in front of a door and managed to pry it open.
When I stepped inside I saw something I was expecting but didn't want to see.
Y/N stared at me with glassy eyes. His skin was pale and various pieces of tech jutted out of his skin and were connected by wires.
"He can safely use twenty percent of his maximum power but I don't know for how long." Said a voice from the room.
"Didn't you order testing while he was in the pocket dimension?" Asked another voice.
"I didn't have time. Do you know hard it is to wire someone who has the will of a god?"
From what I was able to pick up they used new technology in order to find the time to complete their experiment. The only way I could've spared him this fate was if I had dropped Fang and immediately ran after him.
Monsters given this treatment were hard enough to deal with, but Y/N was a human with some serious magic. He was the intended target of this tech meaning there's no telling if the original hero is still alive in that body.
"I suggest you start running. They're testing my capabilities and if you don't want to see how well I can torture a monster I suggest you participate in my seek and destroy test." Y/N said.
I huffed. "I made it this far can I at least ask a question?"
"Make it quick." One of the scientists said.
"Is thou still alive or is this just his corpse?" I asked.
Both scientists laughed and Y/N did an imitation of laughter.
"What kind of question is that? Of course he's alive but his mind, is our. If it makes you feel any better he opted for complete submission if it meant we didn't pry your secrets from him. All of those memories, his thoughts, his feelings, and himself, all deleted. Just like you're about to be." The scientist said.
I clenched my fists. Five hundred years of life and now I let my vampiric side in. I wasn't a normal monster, I could kill if I wanted to and at this moment I didn't see three enemies in front of me, I saw an ally and two easy meals.
"Mother, I accept." I whispered.
I suddenly felt cold as my skin turned pale. My fangs grew and my bright hair became longer. I glared at Y/N and he froze as I paralyzed him. His mind was still human after all.
I dashed into the room and grabbed the first scientist and stuck my fangs into his neck. The female scientist watched in horror as I drained all the blood from his body. I dropped the withered husk and slowly walked towards the female scientist.
"Thou art going to relinquish your control and hand
Y/N over to me!" I shouted.
"I-I can put him in an idle mode but there's no way to just flip a switch and then the implants off!" The scientist cried.
I looked the scientist in her eyes.
"Does thou sin?" I asked.
She was petrified in fear and I saw no evidence that she was lying.
"Fine, do it and I shall uphold my end of the deal."
Y/N went limp. I looked at the scientist and petrified her. By the time it wore off I would be long gone.
I picked up Y/N and walked out of the base. No one so much as lifted a weapon against me.

Two hours later Sarah's point of view...

In the last hour a bad situation turned scary. Using magic we removed what implants we could but the second we did Y/N seemed to snap. I was next to him and for a split second I thought I would die. With sword in hand he prepared to slash but something inside him stopped and the sword clattered to the ground and disappeared.
Now I observed him through a one way window that had been put into a room by a few bored Cyclopes.
He seemed to know I was looking at him because of anyone else were in the room he would turn away. After what Xena had told me I didn't know what he could possibly be thinking but at the end of the day I was still as lonely as the day before.
