Abel offers to drive me home so after saying goodbye to everyone else, we head over to his steel grey car. I get inside and wait for Abel to enter before speaking up.

"You have a nice car you know. What type is it?" I ask him.

"Thanks, she's a Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I got her last year for my birthday." He responds while stroking the dashboard.

I give him a weird look. "She?"

"Yep, her name is Betty. I trust her with my life."

I burst into laughter. "That's the worst name I've ever heard. Out of everything you could pick, you decide on that. Unbelievable."

Abel stares at me blankly before smirking.

"Oh, I get it now. You're jealous."

I scoff loudly. "Jealous of what exactly?"

"Of Betty of course. You're upset she currently has all my attention." He says smugly.

"Yeah right Abel."

"Don't worry, I'd choose you over her any day Brown Eyes."

"Oh gee thanks. I'm so glad I no longer have to compete with a car."

"So what I'm hearing is you want my attention to only be on you." He states rather than questions.

"Shut up and drive." I say with a punch.

Arriving at my house, Abel turns off the engine. "Thanks for the ride Abe."

"Abe?"

"Yeah. Short for Abel. Has no one ever called you that before?"

"Nope never. You'd be the first."

"Oh, well I don't have to if you don't like it."

"Its okay brown eyes. Anything that comes from your sweet lips I know I'll love." He whispers huskily.

My heart flutters from his words. Frozen from shock, I'm unable to respond.

"Brown Eyes? Did I render you speechless?" He asks with satisfaction.

Not knowing what to say, I open the door and stumble outside. I mutter a quick 'bye' and rush inside without letting him reply.

Closing the front door with a sigh, I think about what Abel just said. He surely didn't mean that right? The way he said it.... it was kind of like he believed what he was saying. With complete confidence. What does that mean? Before I can continue wondering about what just happened, I'm interrupted by the sound of my name being called.

"Keziah?!" Shouts mum as she walks towards me. "Is that you?"

"Yes mother who else would it be?" I reply.

"Don't sass me child you're home later than you should be. We will discuss this at dinner when your father gets home."

Turning away from her, I roll my eyes and begin to walk off.

"I saw that." She says.

How does she do that? I think.

I climb up the stairs and enter my room intending to complete some homework when Nolan and Omari burst in.
