"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love." ~ Max Muller

Valentine's Day is a day when it's traditional to send a card or gift to someone you're romantically involved in or attracted to.

I personally don't have anything against this day like Rani except for the fact that it's pretty pointless.

I mean, why does there have to be one single day where you decide to something really nice for the one you love? Shouldn't you be showing that supposed love all the time in different ways?

Nevertheless, Valentine's Day at my school is pretty big now. It wasn't always like that but something happened and all of a sudden, flowers and decorations are all over the place and people try and shoot their shot with their crushes. They're sadly let down a lot of the time but it doesn't stop them.

As I walk through the hallway to head to lunch, arms wrap around my waist and a chaste kiss is placed on my cheek, "Happy Valentine's Day baby." Abel Says to me.

I turn around in his arms and wrap my arms around his neck, "You literally called me this morning to tell me that already." I say with a laugh.

"Yeah, but that wasn't in person so I had to do it again. And you have to say it back."

I roll my eyes, "Happy Valentine's Day Abel."

He detangles us and takes my bag off my back to hold it himself just like the gentleman he is.

"You know, you really don't have to carry my bag for me." I say while looking up at him.

He grabs my hand and starts swinging our arms, "I know Brown Eyes but I want too."

I just shrug my shoulders instead of arguing because I know I won't get anywhere. Abel is really stubborn when it comes to things like this. Maybe it's a masculinity thing.

We walk into the common room where everyone else already is and proceed to take our usual seats. But instead of me simply just sitting next to Abel like I normally do, he yanks me down onto his lap making me look at him in shock.

"What?" He asks innocently. "I just want to hold you."

Instead of questioning him, I lean my head on his shoulder and place a kiss in the space above his collarbone making him sigh happily. I love this boy so much. It's hard to explain how happy he really makes me.

"Aw you guys are too cute!" Exclaims Rani. "I wish I had a relationship like yours." She leans her head on her hand and looks to the side as if thinking about something.

"What happened with you and Jaden?" Ana asks.

Rani pulls a face and scoffs, "He got way too clingy. I'm pretty sure he was about to ask me to be his girlfriend the other day." She shakes her head as if that's the most ridiculous thing you could ever say.

"Um Rani, that's the whole point in pursuing something with someone. To end up in a relationship. And you just said you wished you had a relationship like Keziah and Abel's." Ana points out.

"Well I don't want that and he should respect it and I changed my mind." She flips her long straight hair over her shoulder before taking out a small mirror to check her appearance.

"Why do you even go after so many guys if you're not actually interested in them then?" Raphael tilts his head to the side and studies Rani.

"Because they're a good distraction." She Says nonchalantly.
