"You can't follow your heart when it is more confused than your head" ~ Unknown

After class, I walk out with Noah and we both head to the common room.

We both enter the room together laughing at something stupid he said.

I invite him to sit with me and my friends and he happily agrees claiming it's a good chance for us to get to know each other more.

I take the seat next to Rolo while Noah sits next to me. "Hey guys, this is Noah. Noah, these are my friends."

"Oh hey Raph, Rolo and Israel." Noah says while nodding at everyone else.

"Oh you're already friends?" I ask.

"We share a few classes." Responds Israel.

"Rolo and I play football with him." Raph adds.

"Hello handsome." Rani says with interest. "I don't believe we've met before."

"Definitely not. I doubt I'd have trouble remembering such a beautiful face like yours." Noah says confidently.

Rolo chuckles loudly. "Looks like you've met your match Rani."

"Hey where's Abel?" I ask everyone.

"I'm right here." Abel says as he arrives.

Since the seat beside me is taken, Abel is forced to sit opposite Noah.

I smile widely at Abel and try to talk to him until Noah drags me into a conversation.

"Keziah here loves my pick up lines. Don't you darling?" He asks while gently nudging my shoulder with his.

I laugh loudly at him. "You wish Noah."

I turn back to Abel and find him clenching his jaw with a deep frown on his face.

"Are you alright Abel?" I ask.

"I'm fine." He replies harshly.

Surprised at the tone of his voice, I don't say anything else.

I look towards Ana in confusion and mouth 'what's up with with him' to her.

Ana gives me a 'are you kidding me look' before turning back to Raphael.

Hoping to get some insight from Rolo, I turn towards him. "What's Abel's problem?" I whisper.

"Really Keziah?" He says. Rather than continuing, he shakes his head at me and continues his conversation with Rani, Evelyn and Israel.

Feeling confused and slightly annoyed, I decide to just talk to Noah.

"So where do you normally go at lunch? I never see you in here."

"I'm normally outside with most of the guys on the football team."

"Maybe you could show me some of your skills."

"Oh darling , football skills aren't the only thing I can show you." He flirts shamelessly.

I respond by slightly shoving him away with a small smile on my face.

All of a sudden, Abel grabs his bag and storms out of the room.

Everyone besides Noah, stares at me blankly and shake their heads while I sit there in confusion.

What is going on?

After school, I head to the car park to find Marcel.

On the way to his car , I spot Abel walking to his.

"Abel!" I shout out loud.

Instead of responding with his usual enthusiasm, Abel just keeps on walking as if he never heard me.

Feeling hurt by his avoidance, I stomp towards Marcels car and hop in before slamming the door shut.

"Woah sis, not the car please."

When I don't respond, he speaks up again. "What's up with you?"

"I don't want to talk about it Marce." I manage to grumble out.

As soon as we reach the house, I grab my stuff and run up the stairs to my room.

I lay in my bed gripping my phone tightly in my hands debating whether or not I should text Abel.

After debating the pros and cons, I decide to message him.

Four hours later, I'm getting ready for bed and I still have no reply back from him.

Giving up, I try to get comfortable and attempt to ignore my thoughts of Abel.
