CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

DAISY

It's been four days since Seth snuck into my room

He's done it every night since.

Today's the day of the party. That's why right now i'm feeling anxious. Dustin told me I should stay upstairs, which I definitely am not complaining about.

I'm nervous because what if someone gets into my room? I'll have it locked of course, but there's still a what if.

"You should head upstairs pumpkin, people will be arriving soon." Dustin hands me the stash of snacks and drinks he made just in case I get hungry or thirsty.

"You'll come say goodnight when it's done right?" I ask with a hopeful grin.

He nods. "Of course."

I make sure to lock my door as soon as i'm in my room. I look around, trying to decide what to do. My thoughts wander to Seth.

I wonder if he's coming tonight.
He never mentioned anything about it to me.

Thirty minutes later and the music is blasting downstairs, along with the sound of people cheering every now and then.

I place my book down, giving up on reading, and pull out my phone to call Seth.

He answers after the first ring. "Hi angel."

I smile and lay back into my bed. "Hi."

"What are you up to?"

I twirl my hair with my fingers. "Nothing. Everyone's being too loud downstairs so I couldn't focus on my book, that's-"

Seth interrupts me. "What do you mean? Who's downstairs?"

"Dustin's friends. He's throwing a party. He told me to stay upstairs so people won't bother me, which i'm fine with-"

"Dustin's throwing a party...with you upstairs alone." He asks slowly, his voice sounding too calm.

I frown and sit up. "Yeah, I don't mind though. They're celebrating."

He chuckles sarcastically. "Doesn't matter. He shouldn't have left you by yourself. I'm coming over."

"No Seth, it's fine, really-" This time i'm cut off by my bedroom door slamming open, followed by two people stumbling in.
