It was a rainy Wednesday night in Milton Keynes as I rolled over in the bed, clutching the duvet even closer to me. Rainy is a bit of understatement, the wind was howling against the house, slipping under the window ledges as if trying to force its way into mine and Alex's house. The rain was hammering against every surface and continued to descend in an almighty attack onto our roof. I sighed as another clap of thunder rolled throughout the sky, quickly followed by a flash of lightning. Alex was still at the technology centre running some tests and god knows what on the car but he kept regularly texting me and called me to see if I was okay about the storm. I truly don't think I'll ever get over the possibility I ended up with such a caring boy. My thought line was broken as I heard the door open and then slam followed by a string of profanities and heavy shouting from Alex's usually quiet and calm voice. I hurried downstairs and slid into the kitchen and gasped as Alex was leaning over the sink clutching his nose, which was currently dripping with blood.

"Hey love." He muffled through his hand, I sped over and turned him to face me. I took his hand away from his nose and lightly pinched it before titling he head ups wards slightly.

"You never get nose bleeds Alex!" I exclaimed, shocked when I saw the amount of blood that had made its way onto his sweater.

"I tripped outside, on the step from the rain and landed... well face first." He giggled lightly. I finally pulled his head back to a normal position but grimaced when I saw him.

"What?" He questioned,

"Alex you need to be chill but your nose is very broken so erm... hospital?"

"What!"

He raced into the living room and groaned as he saw his now blue and black nose in the mirror. It was slanted very much to the left with a small bump at the top.

"It's fine they can fix it, get in the car... slowly and carefully and I'm driving!"

We were sat in a small office of the hospital waiting for a doctor to come and see Alex. I was telling Alex that with a broken nose they usually just put it back into place and then you go, it had happened to somebody I know. This scared Alex. He was going on about the pain and how his nose will never look the same,

"You broke pretty much all you fingers playing rugby and you're fine now!" I replied,

He scowled and held up his right hand on which his index finger slightly skewered to the left.

"Oh- well I've never even noticed your weird hand thing and I won't noticed your slightly dodgy nose... I'll love you anyway!" I beam at him, to which he replied with a roll of the eyes,

"Thanks y/n, very supportive."

I kissed the end of his nose to which he howled at,

"You didn't act like that when you didn't know it was broken," I mused,

"Well... knowledge makes it worse."

The door suddenly opened and in walked the doctor who was going to be treating Alex. He spoke about a few things before rubbing a pain relief cream on Alex's nose.

"Okay, you might want to hold your girlfriends hand for this."

I laughed thinking he was joking but jumped when Alex's strong grip clasped around my hand.

His eyes grew wide in fear as the doctor began to lean forward towards his face,

"Alex just remember I love you, I love you, I love you!" I squealed as a crack was heard throughout the room.

"Ok... that wasn't too bad." Alex whispered.

After a few words with the doctor and some pain medication we were on our way again. Alex gripping my hand tightly as I drove with one hand on the wheel.

"I love you to by the way." He said suddenly,

"Hm?" I questioned lightly,

"You said it before and I didn't reply, also thanks for staying calm in all this and getting me here and back."

He smiled at me, I waited until we pulled at a red light before leaning over and gently kissing him on the lips, staying extra careful of the nose obviously.
