PICTURED: Asha's interview outfit

༻✧༺

My alarm blared loudly, waking me from my slumber. It was Saturday morning and I was excited for the day. I was heading to the mall with the girls to go shopping for dresses, and my interview with Zinc Fashion was in the afternoon. I wanted to look fashionable but also classy so I chose to wear a black and white checkered co-ord with a black bodysuit underneath. I curled my hair into loose waves, slipped on my black strappy heels and applied a full coverage makeup since I needed to impress the interviewer at Zinc.

At ten o'clock I was finally ready to go, and my mum drove me to the mall to meet up with the girls.

"Have fun, sweetie!" she said, leaning over the centre console to kiss my cheek.

"Thanks, mum!" I replied. I went to get out of the car but she stopped me, placing her hand on my arm gently.

"Take this," she said, pulling out her credit card and handing it to me, "I want you to use it if you find the perfect dress."

"Mum, I can't do that!" I told her, pushing the card back to her.

"Yes, you can," she insisted, grabbing my purse and burying it deep inside.

"And good luck for your interview, you look beautiful!" she said, before shooing me out of her car.

I walked through the mall to our meeting point and of course I was the last one there.

"Sorry guys, mum wanted to chat in the car for a bit!" I told them.

"Oh my god Asha, why do you look so good? We all look shit compared to you!" Casey exclaimed before looking around at the other girls "No offence guys..."

"I have an job interview at Zinc this afternoon at one!" I told them, and they all gasped.

"Oh. My. God. That place is incredible! And so expensive!" Heidi gasped. "My mum bought a dress from there last month for like...eight hundred dollars!"

"Shit...they'll probably take one look at me and kick me out the door," I said nervously.

"No. You look the part for sure. Don't worry!" Heidi reassured me.

We began to look in different clothes stores for Spring Formal dresses. By midday, Amanda, Mollie and Heidi had found their dresses and they all looked gorgeous. Heidi had chosen a strapless floor length red dress that hugged her figure perfectly. Her pale skin in contract with the red made her glow beautifully. Amanda had chosen a pale blue halter neck that flared out gorgeously at the waist, a sizeable train trailing behind her. The blue from her dress making her eyes glow brightly. Mollie had beautiful brown skin and her yellow dress was absolutely stunning on her. It was tight fitting and the straps fell elegantly off her shoulders. They all looked incredible.

"I think I'm going to cry, you guys! You all look so perfect in those dresses!" Lauren said, and we all nodded.

"Do you guys want to come to Zinc with me? I can do my interview and then maybe one of you will find a dress there?" I asked.

"Yep!" they all said happily, and we made our way to the store. The girls hung around outside while I walked in.

"Hi, I'm Asha Lawrence. I'm here for a job interview," I told the lady working behind the register.

"Oh, perfect!" she said cheerfully, "Our manager just got back from lunch. I'll go and get her."

The lady walked through to the back of the store and was back in less than a minute, followed by a tall and intimidating looking woman.
