Nickolas's pov :

its three pm and it's time for the surgery to start, they should wheel Eva out of her room now, Jason and bella, joseph and even the smiths are here, to give their support , I don't why I am this scared , I mean the doctor told us that the surgery is simple but some part of me is being anxious , I might be acting overly protective of the woman that I love . yes I do love her but I don't know how to tell her, I know that she likes me , but I am worried that things are going way to fast for Eva , if its up to me , I would have told her long ago , but I don't want to scare her away , so I will keep it in for now and just wish that she returns healthy .

the moment I saw the doors of the room open, I got up and walked towards the bed that's being wheeled out

"oh, that's quite a number of visitors I have " Eva said while smiling, everyone chuckled at her words

" well Eva I must say that you still look amazing, even in this ugly hospital gown " Jason said which made me send him a glare, that everyone ended up laughing at, I ignored everyone in the room and stared at the woman sleeping in the bed

"I will wait for you right here " she smiled gently at my words

"you should wait in front of your mothers' room, you heard the doctor my operation is simple, stay at your mom's side "

God this woman, even in this situation she is thinking of others, how much more am I going to fall for her

"we have to go now " the nurse said while pushing Eva's bed away, Eva waved her hand for everyone and continued smiling until she reached the operation room and finally the doors closed up , leaving me standing in the middle of the room staring  

It's been three hours since the operation started, and I have been walking between my mother and Eva's room like crazy, making sure that both of them are okay, I was sitting in front of my mother's room when my phone rang, I picked it up without looking at the id

"she is out, you need to come " it was Jason calling, but from his voice I could tell that something was off, my heart dropped at that thought, I don't know how but in couple of seconds I was already in front of Jason and bella , leaving the smiths with my mother , I saw the doctor looking tired with sweat on his forehead

"what's going on? where is she?"

"nick calm down she is okay man, don't worry " Jason said trying to calm me down

" then what's wrong, why is the doctor looking like shit happened inside the operation room? I asked everyone while pointing to the doctor

"sir , calm down and let me explain , miss Eva is okay , her body is a bit weak , that's why we need to keep watching her for a while that's all  , we just transferred her for ICU , she might sleep for a while , so she can get her strength back and that's totally normal " the doctor said making me frown

"how long is a while, and why would her body be weak? she was healthy before the surgery"

"don't worry sir, we will make sure she is okay, she might sleep for a day and she might sleep for a weak, we don't know yet, we will have to observe he closely "

"when can I see her?"

" in a couple of minutes, they are still transferring her to the ICU right now, we will call you when everything is ready " I nodded my head indicating my acknowledgment for everything he said

"thank you doctor we will wait here " bella said smiling, exhaustion clear on her face

We sat in the hallway waiting for any news, god this day is long as hell after a couple of minutes my phone rang, it was uncle Anderson calling

"yes, uncle I will be right there "

"Nickolas my boy, come here fast, the surgery is over, they just took your mom to the ICU , the doctor said that the surgery was successful and that he needs to talk to you" when i heard my uncle words i stood up right away making everyone around me startled , i started walking towards my moms room , i saw my aunt hugging her husband and smiling while the doctor was laughing and smiling 

"what's going on ?"

" oh Mr. royal , your here , madam is reacting will to her surgery , they are getting her ready in her room , we will continue to watch over her closely and see how her body will react to the changes , but please don't worry the worst has passed " i nodded towards the doctor with relief washing over my face 

"thank you doctor , i will wait for any news , and make sure that both my mom and Eva's room are side to side "

"yes of course sir " 

i slumped on the chair , exhaustion taking over me , finally the surgeries were over , now i just need everything to go will with Eva , and maybe my mother will get better to 

"how is Eva doing , when you left you didn't tell us anything " on the mention of Eva's name my heart started to hurt 

"she's not doing great , her body is weak , so she is gonna stay asleep for a while " Liza ( MRS. smith) frowned , but she hid it right away 

"don't worry son she will be okay , you should go home and rest for a while and eat a good normal meal for a change " my uncle said 

"no its okay i am staying here, Eva might wake up any second now , you both should go home and rest , both of you have been sitting here for so long " i said 

"okay we will go first and we will come back tomorrow morning , make sure to call us if anything happens got it ?" my uncle said , i nodded my head to them , trying not to worry them , after that i went towards Eva's room and saw Jason sitting alone 

"where's bella ?" 

"ah she just left , i asked her to go home , if she sat here any longer she might have fainted from exhaustion " Jason said while looking at me " how are you hanging on man ?"

"i will be better when Eva wakes up " i said while sitting on the chair in front of him , after a while a nurse came telling me that i can go in now , i went towards the room but before i could step in , the nurse gave me gloves a gown , and  cap 

"what are these for , i am only visiting her ?" i said while glaring at here , i saw the nurse tremble in fear but she answered me anyway 

"i am  s---sorry sir , bu_t your not allowed in without protection , its for the patient's health" i took the stuff from her hands and wore them , after that i went with her , but the view that greeted  me broke my heart to a thousand pieces , here she was sleeping on the bed looking as pale as a sheet , with a thousand tubes attached to her body ...
