chapter 42

Eva's pov :

"he is my uncle ....and the man who killed my father...."

i wasn't surprised when he called him uncle but the other part made me speechless , i didn't talk giving Nickolas some time , so he can let everything out when he is ready .i could feel nicks body stiffen up under my hands , i rubbed me hand on his chest to calm him down after a while he sat up and lifted me to sit on his lap 

"he is my father's brother , he is called Jonas , he was really close to my father and mother especially since my father raised him when my grandparents died , my father worked hard to give him a good life , at first things didn't go as planned so my dad ended up working in the mafia , he built himself slowly with the help of some of his friends , and he become a successful business  man in front of the world , a loving older brother , and ruthless mafia boss in the darkness" 

i had a thousand questions to ask already but i didn't want to disturb him so i decided to let him finish , after that i will ask him 

"after my father got settled in his work and everything else , my uncle was already going to collage , one day my uncle introduced one of his 'friends' to my father , and that friend was my mother "

"my father fell in love with my mother at first sight , and after that he courted her for a while before they got married , even though my father was older than my mother by almost nine years , but they were deeply in love , but what my father didn't know was that my uncle has been in love with my mother for almost a year before him " all of a sudden nick started laughing but his laugh was anything but sincere it was cold as ice .

"I don't even know if you can call it love, it was pure lust , he was obsessed with anything my father had  , he wanted my mother , his company , his money , and even the rights to the mafia , my father used to give him anything he wants , he gave him a high position at the company , he let him in some of the side work , but he couldn't let my mother go no matter what , after a couple of years everything got better and back to normal , my parents had me right after their marriage , and our family was happy " i saw in nick's eyes a look of nostalgia and sadness , after a minute a look of hatred flashed in his eyes and he clenched his fist in anger 

"but what my father didn't know was that his own brother , his only blood related family was betraying him behind the scenes only for the power and the hatred he had in his heart , when i was 18 accidents started to happen , one day when we were out having dinner someone tried to shoot us , of course my father had security around us , but i still got shot in the shoulder , my father didn't doubt his own brother , but soon one of his intel's told him that my uncle has been working with one of his worst enemies , someone who wanted our whole family dead, when my father found out he fired my uncle from the company and sweared to never let him near our family ever again "

"two years after that , my father was supposed to go to work at the morning as usual , but my mother insisted that she would go with him since he wasn't feeling well , but what they never expected was that the brakes weren't working my father did his best to control the car but he couldn't and they ended up in an accident , my father died right away while my mother was in coma " 

when i heard what nick said i felt my heart break to pieces , my hand trembled slightly as i let it rest on nick's cheek caressing it slowly  , with a tear sliding down my cheek i whispered 

"i am so sorry love " he looked at with sadness in his eyes ,"what happened next ?" 

as soon as i asked that sadness turned to a cold stare , i felt my body shiver as i couldn't help but think of what he did next

"what did you do Nickolas ?"

" i took over my father work , with the help of uncle smith i was able to stand up again, soon i started investigating everything that happened that i didn't know about , and i took over my father's gang , it wasn't a big gang " when i heard that Nickolas was a part of mafia , my eyes turned serious  

"which gang ?" 

"the fantôme(it means ghosts in French) " when i heard the name i felt a shiver run down my spine , this gang is one of the strongest ever in the world , they were always working in the shadows , destroying their enemies , every one in this side of the world knew to never offend someone who was part of this gang , but the leader face or name was never known to the world , but the last couple of years the gang has gotten even more powerful , my mind was getting hectic of thinking 

"you---you mean your the leader of ...?"

" i was but not any more , a friend of mine is taking care of everything that is related to the gang , i only support him one is needed , but my only regret is that i never got rid of my uncle but this time around i will kill him for sure , no matter what , i will never let him near my family ever again "

"nick..."

"i am sorry Eva , but i have to do this no matter what !" it took me a second of staring in nicks eyes, he had a look of determination in them ,i made up my mind 

" okay love , i support you , no matter what you decide , you got me as your back up , got it " nick chuckled slightly as he got closer to kiss me 

"my fierce queen " 

after that me and nick kissed slowly as we tried to forget both of our painful past and our scary days that will come.....
