chapter 53

Eva's pov :

its been four days since i found out that my father was alive , nick had me stay at home and this time he stayed with me , he started working from home , and  most of his meetings are held on video chat , or he would let his VP sit in for him , i told that he can go to work but said that he is not letting me out of his sight , Leo is staying with us for the time being since being outside is not safe for him , even though we were raised together Leo is not good at fighting that's why he probably cant protect himself if anything happens .

i have been asking nick what happened ? and if he found out anything but his answer is always the same , that they barley have a lead yet , i knew that he was lying because both of Jason and Leo are basically avoiding me , and when ever i ask something they well change the subject right away , i understand that they are trying to protect me since i am pregnant , but i still want to be part of there plan , so i decided to go and talk to nick about it , i stood up and walked to nicks study i knocked twice before going in , when i walked in , nick was staring at his laptop reading a file , he lifted his head and looked at me he smiled warmly as he ushered for me to go to him , i walked toward his chair , and the moment i stopped in front of him , he held my hand and let me set down on his lap 

"sorry to disturb you love " i smiled as i played with his lose hair strands  , he shacked his head as he said 

"no it's okay , i was going to take a break anyway "

"i need to talk to you about something "

"what is it ?" i bit my lip nervously as i tried to think of way to convince him without having to fight

"i..... i was thinking !!! " he waited for me patiently as i spoke slowly 

"would you please tell me what did you find about my father ?" i saw him sigh as he rubbed his temples 

 "i already know that your lying Nickolas " my tone turned slightly cold as i heard lie to me again 

"love...."

"no nick i deserve to know , if you don't tell me i will go and investigate by myself " i threatened him with a stubborn eyes , i wasn't going to back away now

"okay i will tell you , but you have to promise to not do anything reckless okay? i know that your strong , but you have to remember that you are pregnant and that your body is weak right now, if anything happens to you or the baby ...." as he was speaking his hand went to rest gently on my stomach , i nodded my head 

"i promise , i wont do anything that can put me or the baby's life in danger "

"okay , we found some information on your father , he has at least 30 man working for him , a couple of them are from the old gang , and the rest are new , it seems like he want to establish a new organization he does have the money and the power but he just needs you and Leo and his plans will be good to go " i nodded my head as i listened   

"so what's the plan ?" 

"your not gonna like it " he sighed as i asked the question 

"what is it nick?" i asked again as i stared at him 

"Leo is gonna go as a bait with a tracking device on him....." i stood up all of a sudden shacking my head and walking around the office 

"no .... leo.... i cant let him do that , if that man finds out he will kill him ... we just can't" nick stood up and walked to me he held my hands and to calm me down 

"love , everything will be okay , we will be carful , me and the guys will be with leo as back up , nothing will happen to h...."

"then i will go "

"no way not gonna happen " he said right away 

"nick between me and Leo i am more suitable for the job , i can protect myself in case and i was trained to work undercover" 

"oh my god  Eva! , you just promised to be carful remember " Nickolas shouted as he took a couple of steps back , for the first time i saw him  mad at me , and i knew that he was right i am putting my baby in danger 

"i am sorry , i just ...." i felt my tears threaten to fall , as nick noticed he came towards me right away and pulled me into a hug

"i am sorry i shouted , i am just worried that's all , so please don't cry !"

"god these hormones , i cant believe i am crying over something this simple " i chuckled slightly as i hugged nick back , he chuckled as he patted my hair 

"i am gonna be a horrible mother " i said all of sudden which made nick pull away and look at me with a frown 

"don't ever say that , your already an amazing mother " 

"i just don't want to see anyone that i love get hurt because of me ... i cant handle losing any one else " 

" i knew , i promise no one will get hurt " i nodded my head 

"nick can i ask you for a favor ?" i asked as i looked at him with puppy eyes 

"yes love ?"

"i want to talk to him "

"him ?"

"my father , i want to confront him once , i have somethings to ask him "

"okay love " i smiled to him and hugged him

"thank you nick , for everything " after that nick went back for his work as i left to set with Lenna in the living room , but with every minute passing i just couldn't help but pray that god will protect the people that i love , and in the blink of an eye the day that i meet my dad had arrived .......
