chapter 49

Nickolas's pov:

i woke up with Eva in my arms , she had her head on my bare chest and one hand on my arm while the other was laying on her stomach protectively , when i saw how peacefully she was sleeping a smile crept on my face , i looked at her flat stomach and a new feeling surged inside of me , i gently rubbed my hand on her stomach making sure not to wake her up yet , after a couple of minutes i finally took my phone of the stand , it was already 7 and half , i decided to take a fast shower, i stood up gently and lifted the quilt to make sure that eva was warmed up and wont get cold , i saw her snuggle closer to my pillow as i left the bed and a small frown crept to her eyes  , i smiled slightly at her cute side , i left the room and went to take a shower .

 after i finished the shower , i tied a towel around my waist and dried my hair as i walked out towards my closet , eva was still in deep slumber , so i took a suit and a shirt with simple tie and started dressing up , while trying to not make any noise , as i was standing in front of the mirror to fix my tie , my phone started ringing , i answered it as soon as possible 

"what is it ? " i said coldly to viktor at the phone 

"well good morning to you to "  

"what so you want viktor , eva is asleep ?"

"oh sorry , your idiot of uncle spilled some stuff that you need to know " the moment i heard that , my hands stopped moving and my face turned cold as ice 

"what did he say ?"

"its seems like the man who helped him into the whole kidnap and stealing your money thing , wanted eva alive and not even one scratch on her , but the idiot isn't spelling anything else , he is asking to see you " after he finished talking i felt my blood boil , the phone almost snapped in my hand 

"i will be there soon , keep him alive "

"got it....."

"nick what's wrong ?" the moment Eva's voice i hanged up the phone , i turned around to find her lazily standing up at the closet door with one hand rubbing her eyes , i left the phone on the counter and walked towards her 

"its nothing love , its Viktor he was just checking if everything was alright" i stood up in front of her and held her sleepy face in my hands as i leaned closer to land a kiss on her red rosy lips 

"sorry did i wake you ?" 

"no its okay , i have to wake up anyways " she said while smiling 

"its early baby , you can sleep for a couple more hours "

"oh no , i need to get ready for work " she said while moving towards the closet to take out some of her underwear, i felt a headache coming as soon as she talked , i took a deep breath in and walked to her and hugged her from the back 

"honey your not coming to work today , you still need rest " she turned around and said 

"i am fine nick , i cant stay in bed all day " she started walking towards the bathroom totally ignoring me 

"Eva the doctor said you need to rest for a couple of days , and did you foget that he said that you need be extra carful " 

"i didnt forget , but i feel fine nick , i will be carful nick i promise and i wont push myself hard , i will do the minimum of my usual work okay ?"  

"okay you can come back to work"  i saw her face lit up as she turned around and came to hug me " but under one condition !!!" she stopped and started rubbing her temples 

"what is it ?"

" you stay at home today and rest , and tomorrow you can come to work with me what do you say ?"
