Just a filler, nothing is happening.
I couldn't write a lot because I'm extremely busy guys, so I made this short chapter for you all. I made a promise.🥰

There was no time to waste at all. After Kain ended the call with his mother-in-law, he woke his babies up to dress them, called up Samaria, and asked her to watch them. Like a concerned sister, she did ask questions about Moonie, but he didn't have time to answer them. Instead of badgering him, she just told him to bring the kids over. She was worried about her sister-in-law and didn't want her to die.

Samaria and Moonie had their disputes in the past, but they eventually got over it. At the end of the day, they were family and family had to stick together. Too much shit was going on for them to be at each other's necks.

Kain hopped in his car and got on the road immediately. He grew irritated from the backed-up traffic. It was Wednesday and around five o' clock, which meant that people were getting off work. The sounds of horns hooting informed Kain that he wasn't the only one getting pissed off. Some people acted as if they couldn't drive. The traffic also took longer since the pedestrians were taking their precious time walking across the street.

Eventually, the traffic moved and Kain was able to pay for parking inside the hospital's parking garage. Quickly, he scurried inside, and went straight to the receptionist's desk. A white-hispanic, female clerk sat on the opposite side, busy taking information from another worried person. The security personnel patrolled the front quietly while chewing on a piece of gum. He stood there-tall, slender, bald, and light-skinned.

"Yeah..." Kain leaned on the desk and said, "I'm here to see a patient."

"What's the name of the patient?" The clerk asked as she openly checked Kain out. He looked too damn good to her. His tall height, brawny built, copper-colored complexion, curly hair, his long and curly eyelashes, his healthy beard, and his headful of big curls that he allowed to grow out was extremely sexy to her.

"Milani Valdez."

The clerk typed away on her keyboard with her long, ruby red nails. She grabbed the mouse and clicked on it a few times.

"Is she your wife?" She asked nosily.

"Yeah." Kain gave her a dry response. "Can you Just tell me what room she's in and if I'm able to go back there?"

The clerk rolled her eyes, but gave him the information anyway. Fortunately, Kain was able to go to the back. He felt like that was good sign. Moonie wasn't in no critical care, he assumed she'd probably suffered a bullet graze.

He made his way up-which took two elevator rides with a bunch of women who couldn't help but to stare at the man before them. Kain wasn't worried about them at all. His mind was on his wife, that's all he could think about.

He pushed open the door to the room she was in and took in the scene before him. Pale walls, fluorescent lightning, a large window with blinds and a bathroom that was located inside the room as well. Moonie laid on the adjustable, hospital bed. She laid there with her eyes closed. An uncomfortable expression was stitched across her face. The rolling table was beside her bed with a plastic cup that was filled with ice water.

Moonie's family was there-Nia sat beside her daughter while Ronny sat on the couch with his phone up to his ear.

He cleared his throat and greeted them as he made his way inside. Their eyes went on him, but that didn't make Kain uncomfortable. He was there to see his wife and only her. Their stares didn't bother him at all.

"Forty minutes late..." Nia commented while looking at the screen of her iPhone. "Almost an hour late."

"Traffic was bad." Kain replied simply while looking over at his mother-in-law. She was dressed in a simple shirt with some leggings. Her short hairdo was styled into layers.
