One upon a time in a faraway land, a young blue hedgehog prince lived in a shining

castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish, and

unkind. He taxed the village nearby to pay for his extravagant parties and some of the most

beautiful objects in the world. But then, one winter's night, an old beggar crow came to the

castle and offered him a single red rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by

her haggard appearance, the prince only sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away.

But she warned the blue hedgehog not to be deceived by appearance, for beauty is always

found within thee. And when he dismissed her once more, the old crow's ugliness melted away

to reveal a beautiful hedgehog enchantress. The prince did his best to apologize, but alas, it was

too late. The angelic hedgehog had already seen he had no trace of love within his heart. And

so, as punishment, she transformed him into a Werehog and place a powerful spell on the

castle and all who lived there? Their ages ceased by the curse, the prince and his servants were

forgotten by the world, for the white dove had erased all memory of them from minds of the

people they loved. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the Werehog concealed himself inside his

castle with a magic Power Ring as his only window to the outside world. The rose the

enchantress had offered him was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until twenty-

one-years. If he could learn to love another and earn their love in return by the time the last

petal fell, then the spell would finally be broken. But if not, he would be doomed to remain a

Werehog for all eternity. As the days bled into years, he fell into despair and lost all hope, for

who could ever learn to love...a Werehog?
