"I-I can't sleep" Yeonjun whispered childishly into the night, turning over in his bed to face Soobin.

Soobin's eyes fluttered open at the sound, his whole body feeling heavy out of fatigue as he mentally cursed himself for being such a light sleeper.

"Huh?" The noirette whispered back, knowing he could just pretend to not have heard and sleep the night away but not having the guts to.

"I can't sleep" The Prince repeated, a little louder this time.

"Me neither" Soobin lied, low-key wanting an excuse to simply talk to the younger.

Soobin felt as though he could hear Yeonjun talk for hours on end, the younger's voice made his heart flutter and insides feel all warm. It gave him emotions that the noirette knew he shouldn't be associating with the Prince, but he couldn't help himself.

"I don't know anything about you" Yeonjun, seemingly, thought aloud, his face contorted into his signature pout.

"What do you mean?" The older asked, knowing he would get far too flustered if he turned around to face the blue haired instead of the ceiling.

"I feel like all I've talked about is myself" he explained.

"It's only been a day" Soobin chuckled lightly, despite his whole body feeling on fire at the Prince's persistent stares.

"Yeah, but, I feel like I've known you for years" Yeonjun giggled, the sound being pure music to the older's ears.

"M-me too" the Knight realised, a small smile appearing on his face at the fact.

He'd never felt a connection like this this with someone, he'd never felt like he could tell someone anything.

He'd never felt felt truly happy with someone before.

"What made you wanna be a knight?" Yeonjun wondered, causing Soobin's stomach to sink.

He wasn't used to talking about his life to other people. It wasn't like he was scared of telling Yeonjun, he just didn't know how to. Ever since it had happened, he'd been a private person. No one knew how his life really was.

"My m-mother wanted to be knight, but her parents were old-fashioned and didn't believe a woman should be doing those things. I-I wanted to be one in honour of her" Soobin answered, his eyes squeezed shut as he spoke in an attempt to comfort himself.

"She must be proud of you".

"I don't know, I hope she is" The noirette shrugged, trying his hardest to stop from crying. He couldn't begin to imagine what he would do with himself without the small inkling of hope that his mother saw what he was doing for her. That his mother, somehow, could see her son from wherever she was in the universe.

"What do you mean?" Yeonjun furrowed his eyebrows.

"My mum died when I was little, she was really sick" The Knight let out, his eyes tearing up at the mere thought.

"Soobinie" the blue haired sighed.

The noirette blushed at the nickname as well as the feeling of the younger embracing him in the warmest hug, the Knight not having the confidence to cry yet returning the hug nonetheless.

"I-it's fine, I-I'm over it now" Soobin quickly lied, not liking the thought of Yeonjun worrying about him.

"Don't ever lie to me. No one can 'get over' something like that" The Prince deadpanned, the noirette's blush only deepening when the younger hugged him tighter.

"I just don't want you to worry about me" The Knight managed to get out.

"But, I'm supposed to worry about you" Yeonjun pouted.

"How come?" Soobin furrowed his eyebrows.

"We-we're friends, right?" The blue haired stuttered, holding his pinky out immaturely.

"Of course" The noirette couldn't help but smile, finally looking into the younger's mesmerising eyes as he locked their pinkies together.

Soobin let his knees bounce up and down out of pure nervousness, he couldn't help but squirm around in his seat. His body ached to just transport back to the previous night when the Prince was laying in his arms, their legs entangled together as they simply talked into the dark. Alas, Soobin knew that he couldn't, he knew that he was stuck here. Something he had brought upon himself, really.

As soon as Kim Yongsun, the Queen's messenger, had told him that her majesty wanted to speak to him, Soobin knew that it wasn't going to be about anything good. There was a slight fear to Yongsun's eyes that made it all too obvious, it was like she knew something terrible was going to occur, which, in turn, made the noirtte so worried that every part of his body wouldn't stop moving as he waited impatiently in the throne room's waiting lounge (something the Knight didn't know existed until now).

"The Queen is ready to see you" Yongsun spoke when she had exited the throne room, her large eyes showing the same fear as earlier as she tucked a stray strand of perfect blond hair behind her ear.

Soobin gulped as he stepped into the throne room, bowing to the Queen then kneeling before her.

A silence that was far too long-lasting and far too nerve-racking broke out after that, The Knight trying his hardest not to move a bone in fear of upsetting the Queen.

"That's good, you know your manners" she finally spoke, Soobin being able to make out the slightest smile upon her wrinkled lips.

"It has only been a day, yet I can tell that you have made my son very happy. He was much more lively at breakfast today. It is something I have not seen in him for some time. I thank you for that" the Queen told, her strong voice booming across the whole room.

Soobin nodded his head and bowed yet again, not trusting himself to open his mouth and possibly embarrass himself in front of the royal.

Now, getting to the point, I want you to tell me the full truth in the next question I ask you. You can do that, right?" She asked.

The noirette nodded his head without hesitation.
