Yeonjun felt his heart fluttering with glee as he sat upon the vivid green grass, gazing at the lake that seemed to last forever due to the absence of a tree line in the distance, the fact causing a slight eeriness to the ethereal place of nature. The sun was high in the bright blue sky, not a cliff to be seen. For whatever reason, the scenery made Yeonjun want to cry.
"You okay?" A voice of a male asked, like it always did, the Prince simply nodding in response despite the tears that were forming in his eyes.
"Tell me what's wrong" the male persisted, his smooth voice now closer as the he sat right beside him.
Yeonjun blushed at how close they were, their shoulders almost touching. Though, through his flustered state, he still felt tears streaming down his face like a broken necklace of pearls, his heart gaping.
"I-I'm just really happy, but-but I feel like it won't last long" he stuttered out, biting hard on his bottom lip in an attempt to stop his embarrassing sobs.
"There's no need to cry because of that. Make the most out of the happiness you have in the present instead of worrying about how little you could have in the future. You're only making your happiness shorter that way" the male advised, Yeonjun melting into the warmth that had occurred when he wrapped his strong arms around him.
Yeonjun looked up into the male's eyes, butterflies swarming through his stomach at the sight like they always did. There was something about the male's eyes, about the way he smiled and the way he always blushed when the Prince looked at him. Something that made Yeonjun cup his cheeks and place a chaste saccharine kiss on his heart-shaped lips.

Yeonjun felt like his body was on fire when he woke up, a hotness creeping up his neck as he flung his covers off of himself in disgust. He tried to get rid of the thoughts the dream had caused, but he couldn't. Not when the thoughts brought so much joy to his heart.
The Prince slipped out of bed, disgust still running through his veins. The mere thought of him ever having such feelings for his Knight made his stomach churn, mainly because, deep down, they were just a waste of time.
There was no way him and Soobin could ever be.
Yeonjun checked the time on the clock on the front wall of his room, his eyes widening once he realised he was going to be late. Never had he ever been late to breakfast, it was one of the first rules after all. Though, didn't Soobin say it was alright to break the rules? Didn't he help Yeonjun break one of the most vital ones?
Yeonjun felt his heart sink when he dismissed his thoughts.
He couldn't break the rules without Soobin.

Yeonjun stared up at the mural on his ceiling, a habit of his on days like these when he had no classes. His parents didn't allow him to have a phone, so this was the only entertainment he really had due to his hatred for reading or studying.
The Prince knew he could wonder he palace halls until he found Soobin, but he didn't want to pester the older. It seemed like recently the Knight had been handling many errands as well as training. But, to the blue haired, it seemed like Soobin was avoiding him.
It was way too coincidental that his Knight suddenly became way too busy the day after Yeonjun had kissed him.
In all honesty, Yeonjun didn't know what had came over him when he kissed Soobin's cheek, but he didn't regret it. He didn't regret how tingly his lips felt afterwards, he didn't regret the warmth that spread across his body. And, he most definitely didn't regret the bright red blush that he witnessed spread across Soobin's soft pale cheeks-
Yeonjun flinched slightly at the sound of a knock on his door, hating how easily scared he sometimes was as he watched a familiar head of black hair peek through the double-doors.
"You okay?".
Yeonjun felt like his dream was repeating itself in reality when he nodded his head despite the permanent frown on his face, his eyes still glued to the mural.
"Just tell me what's wrong" his Knight persisted, taking a seat on the foot of the blue haired's bed.
Yeonjun felt all of his slight anger towards his Knight's avoidance vanish at those five words, his heart fluttering due to someone actually caring about him.
"I-I had a-a dream, but I know it won't come true" Yeonjun tried to explain, his voice wavering in uncertainty. The fact that his Knight was clueless as to what the dream was about made his stomach churn.
"You're only lessening your chances with that attitude. Maybe if you just reach for the sky instead of overthinking everything, things will go your way" Soobin advised as he laid down next to Yeonjun, staring up at the mural with him.
There was always a reoccurring silence whenever the two laid together, staring up at the ceiling. It was a habit that had formed mainly because that's all Yeonjun did, but also because it was calming to the two in a sense. For Yeonjun, it was the fact that he was experiencing a tinge of the outside, something he got only a few times a year. And, to Soobin, it made him feel closer to the things he'd lost in his life.
Yeonjun took in his Knight's words as the silence progressed, his hands feeling shaky at the thoughts that had formed in his mind. He knew how dangerous it could be to do what he was thinking, but something in his heart urged him to just do it.
⇿ So, like Soobin had advised, Choi Yeonjun reached for the sky. ⇿
