Kabanata 9
After a weeks of planning the event, the day has finally come. Gaganapin ang event sa isang private garden, and only very close friends of mine were invited. I'm just a little bummed because my parents won't be present.

Sino'ng kasama mo papunta sa venue? I can fetch you there, I'm with Cindy.

I replied and didn't receive another text from him.
I was supposed to go with Jay to the event but Joven insisted, since dadaanan niya rin ang apartment ko papunta sa event.
I checked myself once again in front of the mirror. I am wearing a pastel pink colored tulle squared neck dress with puff sleeves and bustier styled top. I let my hair down styling it with big curls, wearing light make-up, and 1-inch high heels. Kinilig ako nang makita ang sarili sa salamin. I caressed my bump feeling blissful and at the same time, nostalgic.
Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwalang may anak na ako. I still remember the days when we were all just young adults, still figuring out what it is to be independent. But now, I finally have someone to take care off and someone I can give my love to.
"I can't wait to see you."
Few moments later, Joven arrived.
He was wearing a pastel pink shirt and khaki shorts. May suot pa itong dog tag na lalong ikinapogi nito.
"You look handsome." Bati ko at ngumiti.
He showed a cheeky smile, "Are you ready, baby Mama?"
Bumaba na kami sa parking lot kung saan niya nilagay ang kotse niya.
"I bet, you'll love the place when we get there." anunsyo ni Joven nang makapasok kami sa kotse.
"I know so." I smiled, "Ang galing ng kapatid mo." I told him.
It was fun planning my baby shower with Therese. It was like a mini reunion with her, sa tagal namin hindi nagkita mula nang nawalan kami ng communication ni Joven. She's beautiful and bubbly as ever.
"Don't let her hear you say that, baka yumabang nanaman 'yon." He teased.
Umiling na lang ako sa tugon nito.
IT DIDN'T took us a long time to arrive at our destination. Joven opened the door for me and helped me step down the car. Hawak niya ang bag ko dahil ayaw niya ako mahirapan, kahit na halos wala naman 'yon laman.
"It's your day, hayaan mong pagsilbihan muna kita." biro nito habang nakasakbit ang kamay ko sa kaliwang braso niya.
"You always spoil me Joven. Baka masanay ako niyan."
Sabay kaming naglakad papasok sa venue. The moment we stepped inside, sinalubong kami ng mga bisita. Nasa bente ka-tao lamang ang mga imbitado. Lahat sila ay binati ako at kinumusta sa pagbubuntis.
"People, mamaya na 'yan. Let her enjoy the place first." Anunsyo ni Joven. Natawa na lang ako dahil para ko siyang body guard.
Nang makalayo ang mga bisita sa akin, pinagmasdan ko ang paligid. Totoo nga ang sinabi ni Joven, sobrang ganda ng ginawa ni Therese sa lugar na ito. Nang binisita namin ito noon, isa lang itong bakanteng kwarto at may mga nakalagay na monobloc chairs sa dulo.
The room right now was filled with pink roses and white daffodils everywhere. Sa dulo ay may balloon decorations kung saan may upuan sa gitna. Ang center table ay nilagyan ng pumpon ng rosas. Iniangat ko ang tingin sa kisame at napansin na mayroong mga paruparo na nakalagay sa hawla. Para itong nagsilbing chandelier. Lumibot ang tingin ko at napansing siyang-siya ang mga bisita sa nakikita. Napangiti ako at natuwa. I walked outside to the garden where the room was connected. May mga lamesa nang nakaayos doon at bawat lamesa ay may disenyo. At sa dulo ng mga lamesa ay may mga mini food carts na may dalang mga desserts. I am in awe as I looked around the place.
