When Lexi wakes, her eyes glow bright white. With a shaking breath, the color disappears as she glances around the Salvatores' living room. Lexi growls under her breath when she realizes she is tied to a chair with vervain ropes encircling her wrists. "Hello?!" She calls out. "Anyone here?"
"Ah, she's awake." Damon walks in with Stefan trailing behind him. Surprisingly enough, it is just them; Lexi grins. "How's Eliza doing?" Damon pours himself a drink and arches an eyebrow in her direction. "Feeling woozy?"
"Rebekah handed me over like cattle, didn't she?" Lexi chuckles, leaning back in the chair. "No doubt asked you to torture me?"
"Actually, Elijah did," Stefan replies. He stands in the corner and leans against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. "Wanted us to keep an eye on you while he and Rebekah went away on some business. Something about New Orleans."
"New Orleans is a cesspool of supernatural beings." Lexi purses her lips. "It'll take eons for them to come back. Which you obviously know, so why am I here and not in your comfy dungeon? Remember? The one Mikael stuffed me into?"
"Ancient history." Damon saunters over to the window hidden behind heavy drapes. He gently nudges it aside, allowing sunlight to burn Lexi's arm. She tenses but does not move. "You're a tough nut to crack, aren't you?" He allows more sunlight through.
"Damon, she'll catch on fire," Stefan says after a moment.
Damon lets the drapes close. "Do you have another idea, brother?"
Stefan rolls his eyes before he fully steps into the room. Lexi watches him closely as he stands before her, his eyes roaming over her face and body. "One thing I know about Lexi Mikaelson is that she hates her past more than any of us," Stefan says. "And I happen to know a lot about her past."
Lexi scoffs as Damon skips over to them. "Spill, Stefan. You can't keep all of her dirty little secrets to yourself."
"You know they only wanted you to do this because on the off chance you actually get my emotions back, I'd instantly kill you?" She asks.
"Where'd you get your daylight necklace?" Stefan asks as he takes the moon charm out of his pocket.
Lexi stares at it for a moment. "An old friend gave it to me," she replies. "When I told her about my twin's death, she gave me that necklace for my next birthday. Said it was to remind me that the moon over us was the same as that day—a tether to his spirit."
"Poor Lexi," Damon quips.
"She died in a roaring fire." Lexi looks away from the necklace. "Almost like the one Katerina faked her death in. Circle of life, I suppose."
Stefan takes a step closer. "Is this the same old friend who you lived with for thirty years? Who Mikael killed?"
Lexi narrows her eyes. "Yes."
"This is going too slowly for my liking." Damon takes a step towards the window but Stefan stops him. "Why can't we get this party started?"
"Because this isn't a party," Stefan snaps. "Something has to be important to her. Something has to anchor her."
"Oh, I have an anchor," Lexi says. Both brothers turn to her with frowns on their faces. "Yeah. Most wolves do. It's to keep us in control during the full moon."
"Interesting." Damon kneels down next to Lexi. "And who is your anchor?"
She blinks. "For reformed serial killers, you two are truly idiotic."
"Why, thank you. Now, who keeps you under control?"
Lexi meets his gaze. "Henrik," If they were listening closely, they would have heard the lie. "but he's dead, so good luck using him against me."
