Keefe slammed the door. Lord Cassius snarled as he gingerly touched where Keefe slapped him. That ungrateful boy. He took after his atrocious mother. He carefully smoothened his blond hair when a red petal caught his eye. Lord Cassius bent down to pick it up and carefully studied it.
It wasn't from the Lost Cities. Interesting. The only crystals Keefe was aware of were those of the Lost Cities and -
"No," he whispered. Lord Cassius's eyes widened a little. Keefe went to the Forbidden Cities. Did he know how much trouble he could be in? But he knew a Technopath. That boy whose parents were a bad match. What was that kid's name? Deck?
*Yes, that was a reference to Fitz in Book 1*
Still, Lord Cassius could tell the Council himself. That would force Keefe to cooperate. Maybe Grady's theory could be tested.
