All it took was one push from the boy he cradled in his arms, all weakened and defeated. One push and he felt it.

At first, he thought all he sensed was glimpses that didn't belong to his head. He knew it from the moment the boy pushed into his chest, that something was transferred into him. But it didn't seem to be something visuals, only heightened sensations, that flooded into him.

There was a weight in his chest, and it was recognizable. It tightened around the pit of his heart, twisting in some unspeakable pain, because another part of him was made to detach. Parker felt it all; the somber, the emptiness, the dread that he didn't deserve to feel.

All this pain simply because he wanted to be with the one that he loved.

He thought of Callan. And he couldn't bear it.
