Oyogun village

Omololá was pacing, blistering with anger, behind the palace grounds , throwing furtive glances towards the dark forest that loomed nearby. But  this was the only place they could meet. She gritted her teeth  and her hands formed into fists, how dare he? who did he think he was, trying to ruin her well laid plans? Everything had been going swimmingly, and then he'd gotten greedy. Asking for more and more and more. If he wasn't so useful, she would have squished him like the putrid, disgusting bug he was. She lifted her face to the sky, the sun would soon set, where was the idiot, anyways?. What was he trying to prove by keeping her waiting? . She scoffed and murmured to herself, "Ah! Omololá, o mà  ti jèyà  o, you have been reduced to waiting for a worthless man." As if he heard Omololá's  "nickname", the man arrived through the forest path, shoving some low hung branches out of his face. He grinned as he saw the frustration on Omololá's face.
"good evening, my queen" he chuckled as Omololá eyed him  with daggers in her eyes. She knew his reference to her title was nothing but a mockery, but she ignored his words.
"Bódúndé, sé o ya wèrè ni? How dare you keep me waiting like the whores you frequent?do you think this is is a joke?"
Bódúndé groaned and rolled his eyes, "stop ranting and shut up!" he snapped, causing Omololá to suck in a breath as if he had slapped her. She began to speak, but Bódúndé continued, "you are in no position to speak to me like i am below you. I believe you know how bad it would be for you if people know what we've done, or don't you? Do not push me to the wall, Omololá, bi i se be, gbogbo eniyan lo ma mo nkan ti a se ti ile fi jona"
"if i go down, Bódúndé, a jo n lo ni"
But the man could see that she was afraid underneath her facade, "i don't think so, i did nothing wrong, i just did what you asked as my queen. So maybe you should be nicer to me, if not for yourself, then for Adémólá,  your son"
Omololá was breathing heavily by then, "don't you dare bring my son into this, i will kill you before i let you hurt my son. Did you hear me, Bódúndé?"
Bódúndé laughed,  "fara bale omobirin yi, calm down woman, have i said anything about Adémólá? "
Omololá hissed and turned away, wrapping her shawl tighter around her, the sun had set completely, and the nights were cold this time of the year. She turned back once she was sure she had calmed herself and her hands were steady. "what do you have for me  Bódúndé?"
"Eh-en!Now you're talking. There are traitors amongst us, people who do not want Adéoba as king anymore. And their numbers are growing." Omololá did not care about Adéoba anymore, he'd  treated her like a burden for years. She only cared about Adémólá
"what about Adémólá? do they want him as king?" Bódúndé shook his head in negation,"they want neither father nor son"
Omololá chewed her lips, thinking, she had to silence those who were against her son.
"It doesn't matter," she said to Bódúndé, "Adémola is the crown prince. they can't do anything"  But Bódúndé knew better,
"Is he?" he questioned, And it seemed that Omololá knew too. Because she fell silent,  and watched him trudge back into the forest from whence he came.

Ìlúogbón

That same night, in a place as far from the palace of Oyogun as it could be,  men began to gather in a nondescript house. No words of greetings were said, they were not necessary. These men, at first glance, had nothing in common. Sure, they were all youths, but they were from different occupations. The men sat down without speaking to each other. They were all quiet,  as if waiting for something to happen.
They did not wait for long. Soon, the conveners arrived, and then, what was common to them was revealed. They were from Oyogun. And the new arrivals were two members of the Afobaje and three cheifs from the court. And lastly Ariyike. The five new arrivals were shocked that a woman had called this type of meeting. But the youth were not, They had already been in contact with her,as she was a member of the rebellion against Adéoba's tyranny. Ariyike cleared her throat,
"people of Oyogun, Our able elders, you are welcome to this meeting. We are here because we are joined together by a common goal. We have all been wronged by King Adéoba" she turned to the nearest youth. "Alade, Adéoba took your little sister from your family, where is she now?"The young man hung his head with grief,  "She is a mistress in his harem, we don't even get to see her anymore"he said, chocking on the last words. Ariyike turned to the others and began to list what Adéoba had done to them or their families.
Ancestral lands that had been seized, brothers that had been killed for rebelling, sisters forced into harems and farmers and hunters forced to give up their products to the king as a tribute. The Afobaje had been nodding through out her speech, but one interrupted Ariyike,"But what do you have in mind that we do?"
She smiled, we have a weapon he doesn't have. but due to some reasons, they cannot be here today, but believe me when i tell you. These people are our only hope. And they are both people we know. "
They talked some more and made plans for the next meeting, same time and place.
Then everyone left as quietly as they came. Melting into the darkness easily.
Sometime later, Ariyike met Àwèlé beside Òsunyémisí's shrine. She only needed to day a few words.
"Everything is going according to plan"

Phew! That's it for chapter twenty-one people. What do you think Omolola is hiding, and how bad do you think she'll fall if it is exposed. And Adeoba has really stepped on  a lot of people during his reign. Do you think Awele's plan will go well?
"Ah! Omolola, o ma ti jeya o" means " Ah ! Omolola , you have suffered"
" se o ya were ni?" means "are you mad?"
"Omolola, bi i se be, gbogbo eniyan lo ma mo nkan ti a se ti ile fi jona" means "Omolola, or else, everyone will know the evil things we've done"
a jo n lo ni" means "we are going together"
Eh-en! is an exclamation that could mean a lot of things, it means "aha! "(or exactly!) in this context.  who else knows another meaning?
