Baby's POV

THE THEEE BEST FRIENDS WALKED      into school, talking about the huge load of homework they were given the night before. Homework being the evil monster that keeps kids up til the early hours of morning.

"So, did you get your poetry done?" Manny asked the girls

"No." Emma groaned

"Took me until 2am, but yes." Baby added, waving the small piece of paper around for the girls to see

"It's due today." Manny laughed

"I know, but some stuff came up with my mom." Emma sighed, clearly stressed about school and her home life

"Serious stuff?" The shorter blonde asked, concerned

"She wanted to talk to me about her new boyfriend." Emma continued

"And you didn't call us? Who is it?" Manny interrogated, wanting all of the gossip

The three girls stopped in front of Mr. Simpson, who had his foot stuck in gum. Emma glared at him, telling Manny and Baby all they needed to know.

"Got myself in a bit of a sticky situation." He joked

"That's who." Emma gagged once we passed the older man, "Simpson. My mom is seeing Simpson."

"What?" Baby and Manny yelled, trying to keep back their laughter

"It's not big deal. Really." Em insisted

"Em. You're mom is dating your teacher. That is huge." The blonde argued

"I know and I'd like you to keep it quiet, okay? I'm fine with this and you can be too." Emma stated, making the two girls nod their heads in understanding as they followed her into the computer lab

The students were supposed to listen to Simpson's assignment, but Manny and Baby couldn't get their minds off the previous situation.

"I thought he and your mom were friends. What changed?" Manny whispered to the Nelson girl

"She had a thing for him back in high school. Rekindled love?" Emma guessed

"I can totally see your mom going for him." Baby decided, leaning back into her chair

"He is kinda cute." Manny continued

"Yeah, for an old guy." Emma groaned

"He's got a nice smile." The blonde added, hoping to make the situation somewhat better

"And he's tall. That's always good." Emma agreed, trying to make the best out of the weird situation

"He funny. And cool in his own way." Manny said

"Alright. This is weird. Let's go." Baby laughed, picking up her bags.

Baby and Manny discussed the upcoming dance, while Emma stayed back to talk to Mr. Simpson.
