"Hey mom, how are things on your end?" I ask Alex having stepped out the room to answer the call

"Great, the team misses you a lot and aren't very happy with Jill at all, I have to say the dynamic isn't very good right now," mom says sounding a little worried

"I'm sure everything will sort itself out, you guys are a family before teammates so you know how to handle it all," I say trying to reassure her a little

"how come you know exactly what to say yet I can't get one mature word to come out of Kelley's mouth," Mom says making me laugh

"that's because it's Kelley, she's got the brain of a 2-year-old" I reply laughing along with her

"so how was your first training, all the girls are being nice right, I don't have to go mama bear mode on anyone do I?" Alex asks sternly

"No you don't mom, everyone has been great at making me feel welcome. They act just like you lot when you're together, one big, and crazy, family" I say smiling down the phone

"That great honey, I've got to go now before someone comes looking, I sneaked away from team dinner to call," She says

"that's fine mom, I'll catch you later," I say getting ready to hang up.

"Oh before you go Kate, I've got to tell you something," Alex says making me frown in confusion

"Yeah, what is it?" I ask

"you're now officially a Morgan, I got a text from my Lawyer this morning saying it got approved," Mom says and I can hear her smile down the phone

"really? So it's official now, I'm part of the family" I ask tears welling in my eyes a little

"you always where honey but it's just on paper now" Mom replies.

"I love you mom," I say trying to hold the tears back

"I love you too honey, speak to you later," She says before hanging up.

I pocket my phone and stand there in happiness, smiling like a mad women that I've now got a real family, a family I can call my own.

I really want to tell someone so I run down the corridor and knock on the room I thought was right but Steph opens the door instead

"Kate? Is everything okay" She asks me in concern

"sorry Steph, I thought this was Rachels room" I say rubbing my neck awkwardly

"it's no problem, she's two rooms down" she says smiling at me as I thank her and run to the right room this time.

I knock as quickly as I can the smile never leaving my face as I wait for Rachel to open the door.

"I'm coming, I'm comin- oh what are you doing here Kate?" Millie asks opening up the door

"I'm here to see Rachel, is she here," I ask her best friend

"yep she's on her bed face-timing Kristie," Millie says letting me step in

"Just who I was talking about, come and say hi to Kristie," Rachel says waving me over

"Hey Kristie," I say waving at her through the screen

"Hey you! How's Rachel treating you, not being too mean is she?" Kristen asks smirking at me

"oh she's the worst, been picking on me all day long," I say sarcastically rolling my eyes in exaggeration

"Don't get me in trouble!" Rachel shouts in protest

"I'm messing! She's been great just like everyone else" I say smiling
