"Kate? What the hell are you doing here!"
"I thought you'd be happy to see me Georgia, maybe I should head back home," I say pretending to be hurt.
She seems to get that I'm joking because she runs at me with a huge smile on her face and jump onto me as I pull her into a tight hug.
"I missed you" She mumbles into my ear causing a small blush to creep up my cheeks
"Yeah I missed you too" I reply back
"Alright love birds I want a hug too, please" We hear Kiera say from behind.
I put Georgia to the ground and finally let go of her allowing all my other national teammates to come over and hug me too.
"Jesus Christ guys, does like the whole of the lionesses play for Man City or something?" I ask counting the 10 players standing in front of me
"Pretty much yeah," Jill says making us all laugh
"its good to see you again Harper," Lauren says with a smirk getting gaps out of me
"No! How did you find out my middle name that's so unfair" I groan hating being called that, literally only one person calls me it
"Wikipedia does you wonders," She says
"How come you're here, do you not have any games this weekend for the Pride?" Steph asks me giving me the concerned mom look already
"No we have a break this weekend so I thought I'd come down early see London a bit before we have to head to camp" I inform them
"How was it finding Shelly by the way" Jill asks me smiling at the thought of her fiance probably
"Oh yeah it was fine, she's lovely by the way we chatted the whole way here," I tell her
"wait you knew she was coming!" KB exclaims looking to the midfield player surprised
"Yeah actually! I was the one to get her to come down early and see everyone so I offered my services" She says with a smirk
"you mean you offered Shelly's services, Jill," Ellen says making me laugh and Jill to start trying to protest
"Alright guys let's go get changed and then we can carry on our chat to Kate here," Steph says putting an arm around my shoulder quickly.
"I'll meet you guys in the parking lot, I've got to call my mom and let her know I've landed safe," I tell them all and see you youngsters smirking at me, them being the only one to know who my parent are.
It's not that I'm ashamed or anything I just don't want the added attention of being the rookie and having world-famous parents to live up to.
I press the call button and let it ring through for a bit until eventually the lines are connected
"Hey mom," I say happily
"Hey sweetie! Did you make it there safe?" She asks straight away and I have to refrain myself from rolling my eyes
"Yeah I did, I'm at the stands now and waiting for the girls to get changed after their training" I let my mom know
"what's it likes down there, Carli raved about the place when she got back saying the facilities where amazing" mom asks me going into full-on football geek mode
"Well I've only seen the pitch and entrance but so far it looks so good, everything is so fresh and perfect like the pitch is grass but looks almost like turf with how it is," I say marvelling at the pristine grass in front of me
