You sighed as you pinched her cheek. Speaking in a monotone voice, you replied.

The soldier looked at you with pity, he sighed afterwards.
“I'm so sorry ma'am. It's her Empress's orders, now please leave.”

You left without saying another word, feeling hurt, scared, betrayed.

A large boom of an explosion echoed throughout the land, then another one. The land of the rising sun was destroyed. There were ruins everywhere.
They were going to lose.
You ran fast through the rubble. Tears streaming out of your eyes as you tried desperately to find her.
‘No...no...no, no, no, no...!’
You halted and looked around, panting.
“JAPAN!….JAPAN EMPIRE!”
Out of panic, you pushed around some rubble, scraping your hand in the process. You flinched.
More and more tears poured out.
‘This isn't…’
“…JAPAN!” you called out loudly, checking between sobs.
“JAPAN I'M HERE!”
You started to tremble immensely. You crouched down. Feeling defeated.
“...Japan...please…”

“Japan, is something bothering you?”
“…”
A sad smile etched your face as she placed her hand on your cheek.
“(Y/n), promise me something…”
“…Ok?”
She moved closer until your foreheads touched.
“You'll keep going, no matter what. Whether I'm there or not, ok?”
You pulled away, feeling weird out at the current situation.
“What's all this mushy stuff about?…but either way…”
You pulled her in for a hug.
“I'll do it.”
“…thanks (Y/n).”

Recalling that moment, you grit you're teeth harshly as you forced yourself to stand up.
You had no plans of leaving her behind.
“JAPAN!”

Coughing…you could hear faint coughing, not too far.
‘It's her.’
You ran to her location and started to push and pull through the rubble. Not minding if you get hurt again.
Once you got off all the fallen debris surrounding her, you pulled her into your arms. Holding her close like a lost baby.
Then you saw it…
Two holes piercing through her body.
You began to shake, holding her closer as you cried.
“...(y-y/n)...”
“No, no , no-shhhh, save your voice- HELP!!! SOMEONE HELP!!”
“...(Y/n)...”
“It's okay Jap, it's okay-everything's gonna be just fine-HELP PLEASE!”
“(Y/n), ”
“Jap just hang in there-”
“(Y-y/n) listen to me.”
“...”
“...It's over...”
You broke down, forcing yourself to smile for her.
“…n-no, Jap don't say…”
You didn't finish your sentence, allowing yourself to cry it out.
Japan gathered all the strength she had left and kissed your forehead.
“See you in the next life, my love.”
