Murals

Drew

The blue room. Which one was the blue room? I pushed open every door as I walked along the hallway, stopping every few rooms to think.

This is my last clue.

Blue.

She knows where I am.

I heard her footsteps coming up behind me before I heard her voice. "D, Shaun's--"

I turned to face her, angry she didn't know and angry I couldn't help. "I'm not looking for Shaun."

"Then what are you--"

What are you doing? I cut her off, demanding she go put on business attire. It was vague, but it got her out of my hair for a few more minutes. When she stood there watching me, I added, "Now."

What are you doing? At that moment, I was hurting someone who loved me. I was hurting the second most important thing to me. But the first was still missing. She was my rock, my reason to not give up, and she was still gone.

Did she even want to be found?

The thought was brief. I had found the blue room.

And the mural of the ocean.
