Chapter 6 - Daniel

Shortly, the other party’s representative arrived.
The representative was a Frenchman, but his following assistant and the other two bosses were not. Ruby found that the tall man was a little familiar, but she’s not sure if they have seen before.
The man had already recognized her and called with a smile, "Junior Sister Ruby."
Seeing his warm and smiling eyes, Ruby remembered at last.
Daniel, who was previously her father's student, also worked in the court before. They were considered Division brothers and sisters, but Daniel had moved to Switzerland because of his family's business and never came back.
"Senior apprentice-brother." Ruby also smiled at him.
As it was a business negotiation, they could not be allowed to reminisce about old times, so they could only have a chat in private.
Ruby sat by Cecil, listening to the other representative attentively, then, translating it to the Cecil, and she would explain the answers to the other representative when heard Cecil’ reply in French, over and over again.
This was a listening challenge, languages were different, so it’s hard to be translated into another language uniformly. She tried her best to translate concisely as possible so that both sides could understand each other.
Midway through the negotiations, they toast with high spirits. Ruby had protected CEO Richard from the drink while having a cold drink in her period, her face turned pale.
Daniel glanced at Ruby and whispered a few words to the representative, then they seldom toasting just eating, it made her much more comfortable to take a break.
Within an hour and a half, the negotiations were over and the two sides signed the contract.
Seeing it’s none of her business, Ruby spoke with Daniel and got up to the bathroom. She was supposed to smoke, but she realized that there’s no bag with her, then washed her hands and left.
When arriving at the corridor, she coincidentally met with Daniel.
Ruby greet him on her initiative, "Daniel, thank you for all you did." If Daniel had not helped her, she might have drunk to vomit in the toilet.
"Anytime." Daniel smiled, seeing her wet hands, he took out a handkerchief to her, "It's easy to catch a cold if your hand was wet."
Ruby took the handkerchief and wiped her hands straightforward, and joked, "In the past, I often saw you carrying a handkerchief with you, but I never thought that you still had the habit.”
"I'm used to it, it’s healthy and clean." Daniel followed her to the private room shoulder to shoulder, "I heard about teacher's matters when I came back, but I couldn't contact you without your call."
"He deserves it." she said without any expression, "Daniel, you don’t need to sympathize with him, he didn’t treasure this job, he is too greedy."
Sighing lightly, he gave her a business card, "I heard that teacher hasn't been sentenced yet, if you need any help, please let me know, after all, he has been my teacher for many years."
Ruby hesitated but accepted his card.
She had even thought of borrowing money from him when they met each other, but two million wasn't a small amount, and it is difficult and shameful to speak to her father’s student.
"Yes, I will tell you if I need help." Ruby dismissed the idea of borrowing money and changed the subject. "I heard that you got married soon after you went to Switzerland, is it OK?
"Not good." a wry smile appeared on his cold face, "My wife is too open, I can't get her heart. There are three men came for her in one day at most, I can't take it anymore and proposed a divorce."
"Yes!"
Ruby was stunned and did not expect he was living such a life, "Didn't you have a child?
"I’m afraid that she would give my daughter a bad influence, so I give her half of the property and got the custody of my daughter. I brought my daughter back this time and plan to live for a long time at home."
Seeing that she was frowning, he was a little embarrassed, and laughed, "Junior sister, don’t feel impolite about asking that, this is a small matter, if a couple could not fit, they would naturally be divorce."
Ruby laughed but did not say anything.
